Rex makes himself walk closer, but stops still out of reach. He tries to tell himself it's his fear of heights that held him back and not that he’s on Cody’s right side. He could go around to his left, but then Cody will know the tattoo bothers him, and he doesn’t want that. It’s a stupid game. Cody already knows.
“Sit down or fuck off,” Cody says, conversationally. “I’ve had enough Rebels looming threateningly over me this week.”

Summary
It’s not love at first sight. CT-7567 being cursed with being different, and CC-2224 a prototype of clone soldier perfection. But from the first crush to later bad decisions, from a war fought together to the manhunt ordered by the Empire, Cody and Rex keep orbiting around each other.
Rex tries for a smirk, manages that. He leans on Neyo a little. Knows what this looks like but hey, he’s a lowly CT and what he does or doesn’t do shouldn’t be a concern for high and mighty CC-2224 who’s rumoured to be assigned a position with High General Kenobi.
Shame and anger make a heady mix and Rex thinks about his own options in future. There’s none. No High General. He’ll become a foot soldier and he will die, unless he manages to learn enough dirty advanced commando tricks from Neyo. Then he’ll be able to leave the scam that is the Grand Army of the Republic behind at first opportunity.
