Summary
All in all, it was a highly eligible match and Mary was quite pleased with herself for securing it. She might wish Mr. Collins paid more attention to his scriptures and the writings of the great theologians than to the edicts of Lady Catherine, but Mary's own scholarship in that area was more than sufficient to remedy the lack.

Fate had deemed true death to be too benevolent for Wei Wuxian, a man who had left behind a mountain of corpses behind his footsteps. Beware of the Yiling patriarch, they had once said. Beware of his general, and beware of his melody.
Clinging to the grains of soil as the torrential rainfall had whipped his face like Zidian, he had hoped that the corpses that towered above him could officially bring him to rest.
That didn't happen.
Instead, he was sentenced to life in a different, unfamiliar world, with nothing but music of the past to keep him remembering. He would be a monster, and his goal was to unite.

After thirteen years in the Burial Mounds, the Yiling Patriarch finally makes a public reappearance. Civilians are scared. Cultivators are outraged. Sect Leaders are concerned. Wei Wuxian has been too quiet, they say, and nobody knows what dark horrors the Burial Mounds may now contain.
Wei Wuxian wouldn't quite call them dark horrors, but the description wasn't too far off.
(tl;dr Wei Wuxian lives, raises a whole gaggle of demonic cultivator children, and the cultivation world panics.)
