Work Text:
It’s all about the little things.
Kim Namjoon is a man who prides on appreciating the little things. Watching the sunset through the bus window while listening to an old hip-hop record will forever be near the top of his list of small pleasures. Coming back home after a day packed with formalities to get a permit so he can start a vineyard with the love of his life… Well, it might not fit in the category of “little thing”, but semantics.
After Geunam voted to let Seokjin stay, they basked in the celebration only for a little while. Seokjin is really good at wrapping around him and making him forget that the world outside is still turning, but spring came around undeniably, and for Namjoon, that means he has to get to work in the field.
Seokjin tried to convince him it was not necessary. After a substantial tax bill, Seokjin regained access to his accounts. He gave Namjoon a black card for everyday needs, but it feels awkward to use it. He feels awkward spending Seokjin’s money on himself or accepting obnoxious gifts when Seokjin steals his phone and orders shit online. His face still heats up when he thinks about that time he mentioned he liked Pokemon cards and a couple days later a box arrived at his house with a dozen of booster bundles and a bow on top.
He won’t lie and say it’s not fun to enjoy life without worrying about the bills, but for some reason it makes him feel guilty. Probably because he hasn’t been completely honest with Seokjin.
It was necessary to sit down and talk about money before it became an issue, and if they talked about money, Namjoon had to come clean about something else he was pretending didn't exist for the last decade.
All these years, he was stubborn about living only from his work on the soil, but the truth is that he has an investment portfolio from his old life that he never liquidated. He left it to its own when he moved to Geunam and ignored the money that slowly dripped into his accounts all these years, but the truth is that money has never been an issue for him either.
Namjoon decided to bring up the topic the day Seokjin was waiting for him with a new designer suit for their weekly greenhouse date.
“I can afford it, you know? You don’t need to buy me fancy stuff.”
Seokjin smiled that wicked smile of his. “It’s not about the money, though.”
Namjoon is a bit ashamed to admit that he later used Seokjin’s argument against him.
“Well, working is not about making money.”
Seokjin whined, but in the end he agreed on one condition: if labor is going to take Namjoon away from him, let it be something fun, something they can do together somehow.
So, they brought back the vineyard idea, and that’s how April is finding Namjoon’s field ready to cradle bareroot grapevines instead of sunflower seeds. They will save the greenhouse for a more exclusive cultivar, and there’s a portion of land in the yard that is also ready to be planted. All in all, the first bottle of Kim&Kim pinot noir should come out in a couple years, with steady but not so demanding work, and if they get good results they could even sell their bottles.
It’s a thrilling prospect. Namjoon is looking forward to each step of the way. He’s ready to romanticize the shit out of the process starting from tonight.
Someone is watching him.
Kim Seokjin doesn’t hurry his steps as he walks through the arched entrance of the greenhouse.
He felt eyes on him as soon as he got out of the house when the sun went down. He could have gone back inside, called Taehyung, but he was curious. It’s been a while since the last time he was lurked on. It’s been even longer since he last let out the side of him that stands up to a threat, and frankly, he wouldn’t mind ripping someone’s throat off for a change tonight.
He’s been under so much stress.
Well, not really. Not the kind of stress he used to ignore back when there was an open war on his species, or the stress of being imprisoned, stripped of everything that made him himself. No, life is good right now, it’s peaceful and gentle, he’s surrounded by love and friendship. If he truly thinks about it, he’s freer than he’s ever been in his very life, but greed is something he is not free of, and he knows it could be so much better.
He’s getting tired of the goats. In all honesty, he’s never been fine with the goats, especially not with Namjoon around all the time, smelling gorgeous and looking even better.
It’s cruel, he thinks. He will never say it out loud because Namjoon would feel bad, but the thirst is growing irresistible, and every day, his strength to deal with destiny’s cruelty is getting thinner.
So, whoever is lurking on him right now is sorely welcome to make a wrong move.
Seokjin doesn’t try to sneak a look, he’ll play the perfect prey and let them reveal themselves. So far he knows it’s not a casual intruder. They stay at a cautious distance so Seokjin cannot pick up on their scent or pinpoint a heartbeat, but he does sense the presence of another vampire.
Seokjin fills a watering can in the fountain and climbs the spiral staircase to the balcony to water the potted flowers there. Looking ahead is only natural, the whole backyard can be seen from this vantage point.
There’s nothing out of place, until there is.
Seokjin’s only thought when he sees movement on the perimeter is that they better be looking for trouble because he will fucking give it to them.
Namjoon gets off the bus when the sky is already a deep purple. After a quick chat with Boram, he retrieves his bike that he left at the convenience store and heads to Eunhaeng.
He passes by Hoseok’s house but the windows are dark, so he must be at the manor with Taehyung. Taehyung has been on one of his art frenzies the whole week, and Hoseok is always more than happy to be his model.
Namjoon chuckles. The way their past selves would have laughed for hours if he told them one day they would be in loving relationships with vampires is something that always takes him out. Truly, you never know what life has in store for you.
He passes his own empty house. He barely spends time there lately, but when the vines are planted and start spurting out of the surface, he’ll have to be around more often. Maybe he will listen to Seokjin and hire someone, he could even rent his house.
Namjoon turns his headlight to the woods while plans for the future still tumble in his head, but as the trunks of the gingko trees become thicker the closer he gets to Eunhaeng, a pressure in his chest begins to settle, anchoring him to the present with growing dread.
He pedals a little harder. At this point, he’s become accustomed to the flare of his instincts any time Seokjin is distressed, because that’s what it is. Despite them not having a completed bond yet, he’s attuned to Seokjin’s soul in a way none of them can explain.
He drops the bike in the gravel path and climbs the steps of the porch in two big strides. All the lights are on inside, that’s something Taehyung likes to do. Namjoon follows the sound of voices and old music to the living room, but it’s just Hoseok and Taehyung drinking wine.
“Hey, Joonie! How did it go?”
His eyes pass from the couple’s welcoming smiles and search the room for Seokjin.
“Where is Seokjin?”
Hoseok huffs. “Hello, yes, we are having a nice evening– Hey!”
Namjoon leaves the room on quick feet. Seokjin is not in the kitchen, but from the window, he catches movement in the greenhouse. He refrains from running once he’s out in the backyard, but when he sees another silhouette moving inside the brightly illuminated structure, he drops any sense of restraint and runs as fast as he can.
Seokjin plays dumb as he calmly walks down the spiral staircase and leaves the empty can on the edge of the fountain.
They’re moving. They’re coming for him.
He steps under one of the arches, all wrapped in wisteria vines. He reaches for the soft sprouting leaves above his head, purposefully facing back from the entrance as he feels the intruder approach. It’s a herculean effort to keep a relaxed stance, but he doesn’t want to let them know he’s ready to pounce at the drop of a pin.
They’re in the greenhouse, and suddenly Seokjin is not so sure if he wants a fight.
Despite the nudge in his instincts that tells him there’s another vampire in his territory, he doesn’t have the spike of aggression that usually comes with it. There’s only a handful of people that make him feel that way, and that makes hostility turn into amusement immediately.
Why would they bother with lurking?
Seokjin turns around right before they come into hand’s reach, and all air leaves his lungs when his heart takes all the space available. It’s the last person he expected to see, but the moment he felt the presence, he knew. Or at least he hoped.
“Don’t think too much,” Min Yoongi says before firmly pushing him against the pillar of the arch with a forearm on Seokjin’s chest.
Seokjin’s faint smile turns into a frown in a heartbeat. There’s a knife in Yoongi’s hand and that determined look in his eyes that used to mean trouble.
“Do you wanna get out of your leash?”
Seonjin’s frown deepens. “What?”
Yoongi clicks his tongue. “You do.”
Seokjin chuckles and tries pushing against him, but the knife comes dangerously close to his neck. He fears he knows what Yoongi is about to do, and his bright red eyes tell him he won’t be able to stop him.
“Trust me, hyung. It’ll be over in a blink.”
“Wait–”
He can’t finish the sentence because the knife is stuck to the base of his neck and air can no longer reach his vocal chords.
Namjoon hears it before seeing it and it’s horrifying: A gurgling sound, as if someone was choking on water, the desperate gasps of someone who can’t breathe.
Namjoon is frozen by the scene: Seokjin pinned against the pillar of the back arch, his eyes popping out as he gapes for air, his hands clawing on the arms of the man holding him and… Oh god, the blood.
Blood is blurting out of a hole in the base of his neck, the tip of a knife digging inside.
A shaky breath escapes Namjoon’s mouth instead of the words his heart is yelling: Stop! Don’t hurt him! Get off him!
The man turns around at the sound, and Namjoon only sees a flash of red eyes before he turns back to his macabre task.
“Oh, there you are. Come give me a hand–”
Namjoon doesn’t even process the words. Language fails him, but instinct doesn’t. He moves forward and picks the first heavy thing in his way, a digging fork. The man glances at him again just a moment before Namjoon swings the tool turned weapon.
The man groans when the metal part of the fork connects with his neck and the force of the impact sends both him and Seokjin, who’s still holding his arms, to the ground.
“Hey–!”
Namjoon doesn’t let him say anything. He gets a better grip of the fork and has all the intention of sticking the motherfucker to the ground, but the guy dodges him. He moves quickly and tries to grab the fork, but Seokjin pulls his ankle and makes him lose his balance. Namjoon uses the momentary slip to thrust the fork and stick it to the man’s middle. He pushes him back and away from Seokjin.
“Get the fuck off him,” he grunts, his chest so tight his voice barely carries.
Through the grimace of pain, the guy looks at him with a strange expression on his face. If Namjoon was in a sounder state of mind, he would say it’s something like approval.
What the fuck?
The bloody smirk that comes up to the guy’s face makes absolutely no sense to Namjoon. In fact, he’s so thrown off by it that he doesn’t hear the steps coming up to the greenhouse.
“I couldn’t find him but– Oh, shit!”
Namjoon turns around to see an alarmed Jimin rushing towards them.
Jimin?
Namjoon drops the fork and the guy on the other end falls to the ground. Jimin reaches the scene with a dumbfounded expression.
“I’m fine,” the guy on the ground grits out, and when Namjoon looks down at him, he’s pointing at Seokjin. “I-I couldn’t finish.”
Jimin looks between the man and Namjoon a couple times and then turns to Seokjin. Namjoon’s chest is shocked with something cold, he steps between Jimin and Seokjin, who is still on the ground, trying to stop the blood still flooding out of the hole at the base of his neck.
“What is going on?” Namjoon asks, scared out of his mind of Jimin’s unreadable expression.
“I told you we should have knocked on the door first,” Jimin says, throwing a glare at the man on the floor. “That’s what you get.”
“Jimin!”
Jimin sighs, he raises his hands and his eyes turn the gentle brown he used to know.
“I’m sorry, hyung. It wasn’t supposed to be like this.”
“What are you talking about?”
“Let’s fix Jin-hyung first, okay?” Jimin walks past him and kneels next to Seokjin. He tries to move Seokjin’s hand away from his neck, but Seokjin resists.
“What are you doing?!”
Namjoon pulls Jimin back just as Seokjin stretches the hand that is not trying to keep his fucking blood inside his body. In his palm there is a small black device.
“Oh, hyung, you got it!” Jimin grabs the device and turns to Namjoon. “This is the thing that tracks hyung’s every move. The NHA won’t be able to reach him now, and–”
“Leave the talk for later,” the man with the fork grunts. “He’s bleeding the fuck out.”
Whose fucking fault is that? Namjoon wants to yell, but Jimin pulls on his arm and brings him down so he can look him straight in the eyes.
“Jin-hyung needs to feed now to heal properly, and it cannot be that bagged shit they give him. He needs actual blood,” Jimin says and his gaze doesn’t waver when he adds, “I can give him mine, unless you want to do it.”
Namjoon looks at Seokjin and finds his eyes glued to him. His eyes that used to be a soft violet are now black as coal, the irises smudged on the edges, pale lips open slightly to reveal sharp fangs.
“I’ll do it,” Namjoon says without hesitation, and he can see the thirst deepening the black of Seokjin’s eyes, his body becomes very still, and his fangs grow even longer.
“Don’t let him bite or big boy here might lose his hand.”
They turn to fork guy, but it’s Seokjin who answers him with a snarling hiss. Namjoon and Jimin startle, fork guy just chuckles.
“Alright, sorry.” He makes a grimace of pain. “Pull this shit out of me, Jimin-ah, please. They can handle it.”
“But–”
Jimin looks between Namjoon and Seokjin.
“You’d be the one risking a hand if you get in between, come on.”
“It’s okay,” Namjoon says, touching Jimin’s arm.
Jimin gets on his feet and squeezes Namjoon’s shoulder before stepping towards the man on the floor who can’t be no other than Min Yoongi.
Namjoon’s mind is quickly making sense of the scene, but his hammering heart is not as fast to settle. He flinches at the sound of the fork being pulled out.
“Sorry about that.”
Yoongi gets on his feet with Jimin’s help and grins at him. “I deserved it,” he squeezes out, and before limping out of the greenhouse with Jimin as his crutch, he adds, “Don’t let him kill you. I think I might like you.”
He groans when Jimin elbows him on the side.
“Scream if you need help,” Jimin says before closing the greenhouse’s door behind him.
Help?
Namjoon turns around when he feels movement. Seokjin is crouching, his hand no longer covering his neck where blood still oozes out of the gash there but planted on the ground, his body ready to pounce.
“Hyung?”
Something in his eyes tells him Seokjin is not entirely there. Or maybe he is, but behind a layer of something wild. Something that is pending on his every move, and somehow Namjoon can’t find it in himself to be scared.
The adrenaline still running through his system takes a different direction.
“Seokjin?”
Seokjin squeezes his eyes shut and his balance wavers. He needs to put another hand on the ground to stay upright.
Namjoon breathes out the tension brewing in his chest.
“Come on, let’s do this.”
He stands up and brings the iron bench closer. Seokjin watches him closely as he sits down, pulls his sleeves up and rests his hands, palms up, on his knees, his legs spread to accommodate the body that soon comes in between.
“I trust you not to dry me up, okay?”
Seokjin nods minutely. Namjoon takes in a shaky breath as he watches Seokjin lower his face to his right forearm. His eyes are closed, his parted lips touch the sensitive skin right above the inner side of Namjoon’s wrist, and Namjoon feels his heart begin to race.
Seokjin hovers there for a couple heartbeats, it feels like an “are you sure?”.
“Go ahead,” Namjoon answers
As soon as the words fall from his lips, Seokjin is up. Strong hands push Namjoon’s shoulders against the backrest of the bench and a shiver runs down Namjoon’s spine when Seokjin’s cold lips come in contact with the overheated skin of his neck.
A light nuzzle under his jaw is all the warning he gets.
It’s too late to change his mind, but even as his instincts scream to push Seokjin away, Namjoon’s hands find his waist and pull him closer.
The bite hurts. Namjoon gasps as Seokjin’s fangs pierce his skin and puncture his vein. He has imagined this feeling hundreds of times, but nothing would have ever prepared him for the entirety of it. Seokjin is biting his neck, but it feels like he is gripping Namjoon’s soul.
The first drag is a beckon Namjoon can’t resist. He’s known for a while already that Seokjin is irresistible to him, but this is a signed sentence Namjoon is accepting gladly. Nothing has ever felt like this, he doubts anything could compare. Seokjin sucks on his neck again, and Namjoon lets his head fall to the side with a breathed out moan that stirs something up in Seokjin. He grunts, his tongue laps at the little wounds on Namjoon’s neck as his fists close on the neck of Namjoon’s shirt. Seokjin tears the shirt open, and after mouthing a path to the crook of Namjoon’s neck, he bites again.
Namjoon chokes on a moan, the pain so well intertwined with a pulse of pleasure that he can’t help the jerk of his hips, searching for friction on his hardening cock. As Seokjin starts sucking on his vein again, Namjoon has to press a hand against himself or else he’d lose his mind. Pleasure floods into him, bubbling up and up, reaching closer to the tipping edge with each draw of Seokjin’s mouth, but then Seokjin pulls off with a whimper.
“Namjoon…?”
Seokjin’s voice sounds hoarse. He’s breathing heavily, his forehead pressed against Namjoon’s shoulder. Namjoon waits for more, but Seokjin just stays there.
“Hey, you okay?”
He grabs Seokjin’s upper arms and pushes him back softly. Seokjin keeps his head low, but Namjoon can see that the gash on the base of his neck is already gone.
“Jin…”
With a hand cupping his jaw, Namjoon pushes Seokjin’s face up. He’s momentarily enthralled by Seokjin licking the remnants of his blood from his lips, but then his eyes find the bright ruby gaze on him, and his heart skips a beat.
They’ve come a long way from the fragile sprite that wanted to help Namjoon with the splinter in his hand.
He’s seen Seokjin sink to the lowest point and then bloom into health again, but this… There is a glow in Seokjin he hadn’t seen before, that ethereal energy that was already strong turned sharp. Enthralling.
Irresistible.
“Does it bother you?”
It takes Namjoon no small amount of effort to understand Seokjin’s question.
His eyes.
Namjoon takes his time to answer, he wants to be honest. It doesn’t bother him, but it’s odd.
Before meeting Seokjin, “vampire” was a concept in his mind linked only to fear and death. That concept broke when he met Seokjin because he was never able to bridge both, to the point that they existed in different corners of Namjoon’s mind. He’s become accustomed to Seokjin’s pale skin and cold touch, his recoil from sunlight, he’s felt the beat of his heart stop at noon and miraculously return an hour later, he’s fed him blood, he’s seen his fangs, but somehow it’s the red eyes that finally makes it real: Seokjin is a vampire. Not a “reformed” vampire, not an almost, mostly, sort of, kind of vampire, no. A full-fledged vampire who just bit his neck and drank his blood.
If his stomach flips backwards with a wave of desire, no one needs to know.
Namjoon shakes his head. “It doesn’t bother me.”
“Are you sure?”
His thumb caresses the high of Seokjin’s cheekbone before leaning forward to press a soft kiss under Seokjin’s eyes, first one then the other.
“Yes,” he breathes out and kisses Seokjin’s lips.
Seokjin chases after him when he pulls back, and Namjoon melts into Seokjin’s kiss. He expects Seokjin to taste funny, but his tongue, as it drags against Namjoon’s own, carries the same seducing taste of Seokjin’s own blood.
Thirst suddenly roars in his chest. Namjoon grabs a fistful of Seokjin’s hair and pulls him closer; Seokjin is not less greedy. He presses his body against Namjoon, clawing at his spread thighs to pull him closer to the edge of the bench, grinding his own erection against Namjoon’s.
“I really need to be inside you right now.”
Namjoon nods. He knows Seokjin means something different but somehow it’s the same desire. He pushes him back and stands up to unbuckle his belt and deal with the button and fly of his pants with shaky fingers. Seokjin stands as well, and Namjoon sways for a heartbeat, his hand needing to find balance on the backrest of the bench.
He might have gone insane at some point during the last six months. How come nearly 6 feet of vampire with blood on his chin and all over the chest of his shirt, fangs dropped and scarlet eyes fixed on him as if he wanted to swallow him up is making his knees weak not from fear but pure, unadulterated lust.
Seokjin’s lips curl in a wicked smile, as if he knew exactly what was going through Namjoon’s head.
So be it. This is his life now.
Seokjin turns him around with firm hands on his hips and pulls his pants down. Namjoon has no choice but to grab the backrest of the bench and bend forward, his hips arching up, when Seokjin, after fumbling with his own pants, presses his hips against him.
“Fuck,” Seokjin grunts at the dry friction of his cock between Namjoon’s cheeks.
Namjoon is so horny he’s about to tell him to just go in like that, but Seokjin has different plans. He drops on his knees, and Namjoon’s lips curl in anticipation, but then he startles when Seokjin bites the upper swell of his butt, a shaky breath leaving his parted lips as he feels a warm drop of blood sliding down his cheek. Seokjin captures it with his tongue, undoing all the way before licking the punctures closed.
“Sorry, I got carried away,” Seokjin mutters against his skin.
Namjoon wants to say it’s okay, but his voice is nowhere to be found, because Seokjin is mouthing a path towards his entrance, spreading his cheeks to get better access. Namjoon closes his eyes and surrenders to sensation. He tries to keep his breathing steady as Seokjin licks him open, but he might not be doing a very good job at the inhale-exhale, because he gets light-headed pretty soon. It’s either that or the flutters.
They’ve done this plenty of times but Seokjin’s tongue always manages to disarm him. It’s the greediness of it, Seokjin eats him out like he couldn’t get enough. Namjoon is soon coiling with a type of pleasure that only makes him hungrier.
“Seokjin, please…”
Seokjin grunts in agreement, and after one last wet lick, he’s standing again. Namjoon hears him spit on his hand, and behind his closed lids, he can see Seokjin’s hand making quick work of coating his whole length. He gasps when the blunt tip of Seokjin’s cock rubs against his crack, gathering all the wetness left by Seokjin’s earlier ministrations, up and down, teasing the mark, driving Namjoon insane.
Namjoon only realizes he’s holding his breath when Seokjin’s cock finally breaches his entrance and pushes out the little air he has inside. Seokjin is done teasing, he buries deep in one slow but unstoppable push, and Namjoon can take a breath only when Seokjin bottoms up, his front molding to Namjoon’s back, his hands sneaking under his shirt and cupping his pecs.
“You okay?” Seokjin asks, lips moving against the back of Namjoon’s neck.
Namjoon nods. He is used to more generous lubrication, but the heat of the moment helps him ignore the sting. Namjoon puts a knee on the bench and pushes his hips back, already hungry for more. Seokjin gets the message clearly.
He’s careful at first, but at this point he’s very good at reading Namjoon’s queues. He goes as hard as Namjoon needs it right now, and Namjoon knows exactly when Seokjin lets himself go. It’s a subtle shift, but it’s sublime. Seokjin fucks him in a way that makes Namjoon feel he’s finally getting the real, unfiltered Seokjin.
It’s something in the greed of his touch, pulling him closer, his hard breath on Namjoon’s neck, not carefully avoiding temptation but diving into it. Namjoon fights to gather his wits, he needs to track his breathing or else he’ll pass out. His knuckles are white as his grip on the bench is the only thing holding him together. He wants to be in the moment but he’s overwhelmed with so many feelings.
“S-Seokjin.”
Seokjin is nuzzling the back of his neck. He growls when the collar of Namjoon’s shirt gets in the way, so he pulls at it, making the last of the buttons burst. The fabric gets promptly swiped off his back and replaced by Seokjin’s lips.
“Hyung, please…” There goes his second attempt, cut off by a trembling moan when he feels Seokjin’s fangs dragging over his skin. “Jin–”
He’s not even sure what he wants. He certainly doesn’t want Seokjin to stop. Either way, his mind goes blissfully blank when the bite comes and his instincts surrender to Seokjin.
Seokjin sinks his fangs on the crook of Namjoon’s neck and pleasure curls inside his chest at the sensation of soft flesh giving like ripe fruit, oh so sweet.
He allows himself to lose his mind for a moment in the rush of the blood filling his mouth. He’s been dreaming with Namjoon’s taste probably since the first time he saw him running around the manor, more than six months of teasing that he can finally put behind.
His sweet Namjoon…
His first thought was predatory, he must admit. Back then he was so out of his mind, he barely knew his own name, but the thirst… He knew that well. The thrill of the hunt, the ecstasy of the capture, that almost tender feeling of the bite. Every vampire is a slave of that instinct. Let it consume you and you’ll never leave the fledgling stage, give it a meaning and you’ll rule over it.
Seokjin linked his thirst to lust and made peace with the beast inside him. That way it would chase the small death instead of the extinguishing of a life. It also felt like a more fair exchange if the people he fed from had a good time too.
The NHA stripped him of every pact he had made with his nature, they pumped him so full of self-hatred, he thought he’d never feel this way again.
But then Namjoon came.
He saw the handsome stranger coming back for his run every morning and the thirst blinked into attraction and pulled him out of the darkness he had been thrown into. Every day the sight of Namjoon brought him a little closer to the light, a little closer to himself.
The more he knew of Namjoon, the more the person Kim Seokjin used to be made sense to him.
Namjoon once told him to use him as a life line, not knowing that he’d been Seokjin’s lighthouse from the very beginning.
Seokjin detaches his fangs and swallows the mouthful of Namjoon blood, feeling Namjoon’s body relax in his hold.
He knows he’s pushing too far, too fast. Namjoon responds to his claim with submission, and Seokjin is humbled by his trust. As he licks the wounds closed, he vows to protect that trust with his life if necessary.
He softens the thrust of his hips and makes them intentional, no longer trying to reach as deep as possible, take as much as he can but working Namjoon’s body as he has learned to, finding the right angle, the right pace. He wraps a hand around Namjoon’s cock and makes him come all over himself, clench around his cock and melt in his arms with the sweetest of noises.
When the strength in Namjoon’s arms waver, Seokjin pulls out and moves Namjoon around, hugging him against his chest.
“Come ‘ere,” he mutters, as he sits on the bench and drags Namjoon over his body.
For a moment, Namjoon just catches his breath, and Seokjin is content with being squeezed under his full weight, feeling his heartbeat going back to normal little by little, his overheated skin warming him up. For a moment, Seokjin manages to ignore he is still hard, his cock trapped between their bellies, screaming for attention.
Namjoon moves. He intends to get comfortable on Seokjin’s lap but ends up giving Seokjin’s cock a good grind, pulling a moan out of Seokjin. Namjoon hums, and in that slight sound Seokjin can hear his pleased smile. He repeats the movement, this time intentionally dragging against Seokjin’s erection. He keeps at it until Seokjin is clawing at his thighs, his fangs pulsing with misplaced hunger.
It’s Namjoon who gives in first. He raises on his knees enough to guide Seokjin’s cock back into his body and sinks down with a grunt.
It feels fucking perfect, but even through the fog of pleasure, Seokjin reads the tells of Namjoon’s body. He keeps tensing with every rock of his hips.
“Aren’t you sore?”
Namjoon hums into his hair. His big arms are thrown around Seokjin’s neck, his blunt nails digging into his shoulder. He is barely moving, Seokjin is buried deep but the drag is short, nearly a tease for both of them. Still enough to drive him out of his mind, but not enough to make him shake off Namjoon’s discomfort. He pushes Namjoon back with a hand on his chest and kisses his parted lips.
“Was that a yes or a no?”
Namjoon hesitates. They’ve played this game before. There’s something he wants but he doesn’t dare to ask for it. Seokjin’s favorite hobby is coaxing that kind of wish out of him.
Seokjin holds Namjoon’s hips and grinds upward, pushing a shaky moan out of Namjoon.
“What is it, uh?”
Namjoon pushes him against the backrest of the bench and grinds on his cock with intention, rocking his hips back and forth, working the full length of Seokjin’s cock with his tight grip.
“I’m fine,” Namjoon breathes out, his eyes fixed on Seokjin’s mouth. His fangs. He knows Namjoon gets turned on by them, he knows he’s wanted his bite for a long time as well. But it’s not that.
“Oh, fuck…” Seokjin’s eyes close on their own accord as the pressure of the orgasm threatening to burst out of him grows nearly unbearable. He pulls on his own reins and looks at Namjoon’s hazy gaze. “Say it.”
Namjoon likes getting a direct command. Seokjin has come to realize it makes him feel allowed to be bold. He keeps himself so tightly in check in everyday life, Seokjin loves to be the one Namjoon lets himself go with.
A breathless moan leaves Namjoon’s lips. He throws his head back and gets serious with the pace, bouncing on Seokjin’s lap like a man on a mission. Alright, Seokjin will let him get away with it for now. He leans forward, his hands gripping Namjoon’s waist, his lips finding Namjoon’s skin. They get caught in the chase of pleasure, their bodies and minds aligned with one purpose, and there, on the brink, their eyes meet and they jump together.
Namjoon hugs him tight as pleasure washes over him, holding onto Seokjin as if he was his anchor. Seokjin is once again humbled by this wonderful creature and his love. He hides his face in Namjoon’s neck when tears prickle his eyes, his body trembling with the aftershocks of pleasure.
Time stops as their spirits find their footing inside their bodies. Their ragged breathing and the joyful tinkling of the fountain is the only sound in the night as they come down the high.
Seokjin doesn’t want it to be over. It’s a mindless urgency, this is one night of the rest of their lives, but when he feels himself slipping out of Namjoon’s body, this urgency invades him and he holds on the only way he can: He bites Namjoon.
Namjoon gasps, he tenses for a heartbeat, but then he breathes out and hums something pleased. Seokjin licks the little punctures and kisses Namjoon’s tender skin, all the way up the column of his throat, under his jaw, his cheek, his mouth.
“I want some too,” Namjoon mutters against his lips.
Seokjin smirks. “What do you want?”
Namjoon takes a deep breath, but he’s so sated, he doesn’t get tangled in his own head and voices his wish at last. “Your blood.”
Smiling a little wider, Seokjin captures his own bottom lip with his fangs, making twin cuts that promptly well up with blood. “Come and take it,” he says, but through the fog of lust, instinct tugs at his soul. He grabs Namjoon’s arms before he can lean forward. “Wait.”
“What is it?” Namjoon tries to push against his hold, and Seokjin sees when sense returns to him. “Oh.”
Seokjin licks the blood from his lip and watches Namjoon’s expression closely. He has shared his blood with Namjoon regularly during the last couple months, but this time it’s different.
This time it would mean something. This time such exchange would bond them together until death do them part.
“You don’t want me to?”
Namjoon is watching him closely too. There’s always been a part of Namjoon that doesn’t believe Seokjin is just as gone for him as he is. Now it’s a good chance to show him just how devoted Seokjin is.
“I do, Namjoon. My heart depends on it, but do you want it?”
Namjoon huffs. “I said it once. I haven’t changed my mind.”
“Back then it wasn’t an option.”
Namjoon grabs his face and leans forward to say: “I want to be bonded to you. I want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Tears cloud his vision of Namjoon’s blushed cheeks, his eyes shining with purpose. He means it, with his whole heart. Namjoon loves him, and Seokjin will never know what he did to deserve this precious man, but he will make his life’s mission to prove himself worthy. Seokjin blinks the tears away and kisses Namjoon’s lips.
Seokjin nods. “Me too, there’s nothing I’d want more.”
He gently pushes Namjoon back, and they chuckle together when Namjoon’s legs protest holding his weight again with a waver. Namjoon sits on the bench and they turn to each other.
Seokjin takes Namjoon’s hands and kisses his knuckles. “I’ve held myself from making any promises to you all this time and you know why.” Only then he raises his eyes and finds Namjoon’s gaze. “This is me, owning myself again, offering my everything to you, Kim Namjoon.”
Namjoon smiles, dimples popping on his cheeks, his eyes turning into joyful slits.
“I humbly accept it, and I offer nothing less back,” Namjoon says with a squeeze of his hands.
Seokjin won’t insult him by asking if he’s sure. He takes a deep breath and takes one of his wrists to his mouth.
Out of all the feelings racing inside his chest, it’s relief that comes ahead. He’s endured so many years of loneliness, never allowing himself to dream with this, until Namjoon came into his life and mended a heart that spent centuries broken.
He pierces his own vein and offers it to Namjoon, who kisses his palm before closing his lips around the punctures.
Seokjin holds his breath as Namjoon sucks once, twice, three times. His heart hammers in his ears, he feels the beat in his entire body, the beat of his heart oddly echoing as if his chest was a big cathedral–
Wait.
Namjoon gasps, and Seokjin feels his amazement blooming in the center of his chest, Namjoon’s heart beating alongside his own, his warmth reaching not from their hands still connected but from somewhere deep inside their souls.
“Do you…?”
Namjoon nods, touching the center of his chest. “What am I thinking?”
Seokjin laughs. “Nope, no mind reading yet.”
Namjoon smiles with him. “I think you’re thinking ‘wow, I really love this guy’.”
Seokjin gasps. “No way, you nailed it!”
They giggle, but they might be onto something. That warmth, soothing his heart from within, Seokjin realizes is Namjoon’s love. The bond doesn’t let him into Namjoon’s mind, but he allows him to hear his heart’s truth.
Namjoon takes a deep breath and leans against the back rest on the exhale. “I don’t know what I was expecting, but this peace is…” Namjoon’s chest grows with another deep breath, his eyes closing. “I didn’t know I could feel like this.”
“I know what you mean,” Seokjin says, pressing his shoulder to Namjoon’s.
The certainty of knowing that, no matter what, he has Namjoon and Namjoon has him, time and distance cannot break them apart.
Namjoon puts his open palm on his leg and Seokjin intertwines their fingers, the warmth of that hold echoing right above his heart.
“Who would’ve thought being a nosy neighbor would bring me this far.”
Seokjin laughs. “I love you,” he says and kisses Namjoon’s dimple.
“I love you too,” Namjoon mutters, turning his face and meeting Seokjin’s lips in a soft kiss.
He feels the kiss on his lips, he feels the tug in his heart like every time Namjoon’s lips are on him, but now there’s something else. He cups Namjoon’s jaw and captures his lips in a more intent kiss. There it is again: like a pulse of warmth, a beam of sunlight coming from within.
Namjoon pushes him back and frowns at his lips. “What the fuck?”
Namjoon squeezes his still clothed shoulders, fumbles with the buttons of his shirt until he can touch skin, his hands sliding leisurely over his chest, down his belly, he stops at his hips and watches Seokjin’s cock twitch back to life, gasping along with Seokjin at the flare of lust. He knows Namjoon felt it too.
“Do you know what this means?”
Namjoon moans. “The sex will feel amazing.”
Seokjin laughs. “Are you sure you’re not a horny teenager?”
“Kim Seokjin, you can’t be condescending to me anymore,” Namjoon says, arching an eyebrow. “I know you want me just as bad. I can feel it.”
“Feel this then.”
Seokjin grabs Namjoon’s hand and wraps it around his cock, guiding it up and down, stirring a spark of pleasure that echoes between them. Without slipping his hand out of Seokjin’s hold, Namjoon gets on his knees and leans over Seokjin’s lap, but he hisses as the sharp border of a tile digs into his bone, and they both flinch at the sting of pain.
“Should we go inside? Get some proper lube and a softer surface?” Namjoon proposes as he stands up and rubs his knee.
Seokjin accepts with an endeared smile and stands up to help Namjoon gather his clothes. He retrieves his own pants. They try, they really do, but the prospect of the long walk back to the house, the hustle of the new arrivals… Seokjin ends up hoisting Namjoon onto the work table, his legs around his waist, his fangs on his neck as he fucks him quick and sharp.
It’s sublime, irresistible. They can’t get their hands off of each other for a while. If Seokjin had a say on it, he’d stay in that fucking greenhouse forever.
Namjoon keeps his head low when they return to the house. He feels unable to meet anyone’s eyes.
It’s silly. They’re all adults—mostly adults, Jungkook arrived at some point and joined the welcome party. They all understand the dynamics of a vampire-human relationship, but still. Namjoon is new to all of this. He feels awkward because he knows it’s written all over him that he’s been bitten, that he’s been thoroughly fucked, that he fed on Seokjin’s blood and he enjoyed all of it.
It’s way past midnight when they return to the house and the improvised party that is going on in the dining room suddenly falls silent when they enter.
Namjoon doesn't really know what to expect. Once they were finally able to leave the greenhouse, Namjoon went from bliss to stress painfully fast. He nearly gutted one of Seokjin’s closest friends, for fuck’s sake. Seokjin dismissed the incident with a chuckle, but Namjoon feels like he and Yoongi can’t start on that footing, especially now that it’s going to be a long, long term relationship.
When the heartbeat of silence turns into two, Namjoon is ready to combust out of existence, but then from behind his heart, curling rivulets of joy wash away the awkwardness.
It takes him another heartbeat to understand, but when he does, he looks at Seokjin: there's a high-voltage grin on his face. The pure happiness causing it is what Namjoon can feel through their bond.
Namjoon follows Seokjin’s line of sight and finds the same joyful smile on Taehyung. Yoongi is also looking at Seokjin. There is no big grin on his face but his lips are slightly curled and his eyes shine with something like pride.
“The welcoming party turned into a bonding party!”
The room erupts into cheers. Several pairs of arms wrap around Namjoon and squeeze him, someone puts a glass of champagne in his hand, Seokjin kisses his cheek, and then Min Yoongi is in front of him with a neutral expression, Namjoon would get scared if it wasn't for the warm glint in his crimson eyes.
It's love he realizes. Love for his hyung and for this little family that was waiting for him.
“I always wondered what kind of man would manage to make Jin-hyung pull his head out of his ass…” Yoongi narrows his eyes and gives him a once-over. “It never crossed my mind it would be one with enough guts to stab a vampire with a fucking garden fork.”
The others laugh. Jimin and Yoongi must have told them about the incident already.
“I had no idea–”
Yoongi cuts his attempted apology with a hug.
“Thank you for keeping him alive,” Yoongi mutters in his ear, and before Namjoon can reply anything, Yoongi is yanked away from him.
“You don’t enter people’s backyards and cut their throats out of nowhere, Yoongi-yah!” Seokjin says, punching Yoongi’s shoulder. “You asked for that fork!”
And that's it. The incident becomes an anecdote they would bring back at any chance in the years to come.
As they drink and Namjoon eats some of the pizza Jungkook brought, Yoongi and Jimin put them up to date with their long journey. The last piece of news Jimin got from Eunhaeng before losing all means of communication came from that fateful phone call Namjoon made when Seokjin was going down with the dampened formula. He and Yoongi thought Seokjin’s mind was still altered.
“And you know how he is when an idea gets in his mind,” Jimin says, rolling his eyes. “He was convinced the easiest way to go about this was quick and bloody.”
“Sorry!” Yoongi huffs. “I still remember being mind-fucked. The pain of knowing that you know the person in front of you but not being able to remember… I wanted to save hyung from that. How would I know his mind was back in good shape?”
“Literally knocking on the fucking door. I would’ve told you,” Taehyung says with a laugh.
“Oh, fuck off.”
Seokjin laughs. “It’s alright. We could have saved Namjoon the whole trauma, but it worked out alright.”
“That was one hell of an introduction, though,” Yoongi says to the room with a smirk. “I’ve seen a war or two back in the day, but this dude fucking scared me going all Spartan with the fork.”
They all laugh. Namjoon’s cheeks get warm, but he laughs too.
Eventually the party moves to the sunroom. Taehyung decides he wants to paint the group under the moonlight. When the sky begins to clear there isn’t much more than a rough draft of a scene on the canvas, but everyone’s cheeks hurt from smiling so much. There is a synergy in the group Namjoon had never felt before, as if they’ve been friends in a different life.
Someone has the brilliant idea of going to the ballroom and Jungkook is ready with his giant speaker. He is the self-appointed DJ, and while the others dance, Namjoon and Yoongi sit on the floor, enjoying the show until they are dragged into it.
As the sun begins to rise, the energy in Eunhaeng turns mellow, they all say their good mornings and go to bed.
Namjoon takes a deep breath and lets it out in a long sigh when his head hits the pillow and silence begins to feel deafening after being full of loud voices. Seokjin comes out of the bathroom and drops onto the bed with a very similar sigh.
“You’d think two people wouldn’t make a huge difference, but suddenly it’s a crowd.”
Namjoon chuckles. “You mean Jimin and Yoongi or Hoseok and I?”
Seokjin hums. “If you put it like that, Hoseok’s laugh alone is equal to a dozen people.”
Namjoon laughs. “You’re right.”
“I can’t imagine this family without the two of you now,” Seokjin whispers. He’s looking at the roof, but through their bond Namjoon can feel he’s moved.
“You won’t have to. Hoseok told me he wants to take the bond too.”
Seokjin looks at him with surprise. “Really?”
“He said he’s putting together the courage to ask Tae.”
Seokjin smiles. “He’ll say yes in a heartbeat. He’s always wanted to bond.”
“Good. I would’ve been devastated if Hoseok had to grow old by himself.”
Seokjin turns on his side and scoots closer so he can rest his head on Namjoon’s shoulder. Seokjin’s mood is suddenly solemn.
“You would’ve been sexy with wrinkles.”
Namjoon grimaces. “I do have some wrinkles. I should’ve worn more of the tonics and serums Hoseok is always putting on his face. Don’t laugh!” Seokjin’s shoulders still shake with silent giggles. “I mean it, Hoseok and Taehyung don’t look that far apart, but you and I…?”
Seokjin slaps his belly. “Don’t be ridiculous. You’re still young, and you’ll be this young forever.”
“You’re younger.”
“Yoongi is an actual year younger than me and Jimin is a year younger than you, so they have the same age gap.”
Namjoon groans. “Yeah, but Jimin has a baby face. It’s not the same.”
Seokjin comes up on his elbow and leans over him. “You’re big and hot, quit whining about your age.”
“But I–”
“Also, I love you, so…”
All arguments brewing on the tip of his tongue melt into a smile.
“That’s a powerful card right there.”
Seokjin giggles and kisses the tip of his nose. “I know.”
He pulls Seokjin onto his chest and hugs him. When Namjoon closes his eyes, the soft smile has yet to leave his lips. You’ll be this young forever, Seokjin said, and he doubts he fully understands what that means, so for now he’ll take it one night at a time, looking forward to what life has in store for them with only one thing for sure: Seokjin will be by his side and he will not let go of him.
