Chapter Text
It was just another casual day for Rick and Morty, doing their average “quick” adventures. In the middle of the adventure, Rick C-137 jumped into a portal and didn’t even wait for Morty Prime to see if he was following his lead. Morty had barely managed to escape the disgusting creatures who chased behind him.
Morty looked around. “…R—Rick..?”
…
Morty looked around the strange alien planet, panic slowly settling in. Rick had dragged him into another “quick” adventure and ended up leaving him stranded in this weird dimension all alone.. What a prick.
Morty tried to get familiar with his surroundings, he tried to ask a few civilians for help but his language was pure gibberish to them and they ended up brushing him off.
“Aw geez.. what am i gonna do..”
Morty was about to freak out when a sudden Golden Portal coincidentally opened just a few steps from him.
Morty spun around, he recognized that “shhhk.” a portal does when opening, he had heard it way too many times.
Evil Morty stepped through the golden portal, his eyes landed on a Morty almost instantly. He was in this dimension to run some quick errands, so this was.. unexpected.
“..Em? Is that you?”
The Morty spoke up after inspecting Em’s face for a second, no other Morty wore an eyepatch other than Evil Morty—After all, they knew how Ricks felt about pirates.
“..Morty Prime.. what a nice surprise.”
Em said, almost sarcastic? Morty couldn’t tell by his tone sometimes.
“What are you doing here?“
Em asked, he was curious on why Morty would be in this random alien planet all by himself.
“…Um.” Morty hesitated before speaking up, aware that his situation is stupid.
“..Rick kinda left me here.. stranded.”
Em’s face looked pale by the confession. He really didn’t expect Rick to be the type of guy to just leave his Morty mid adventure. Of course, this wasn’t the first time but Rick would’ve noticed Morty’s lack of presence by now.
“He left you?” Em asked for confirmation. He looked at Morty’s face to see any signs of sarcasm, but all he saw was a confused lost Morty.
“..yeah.” Morty spoke up, and nodded in agreement.
For a moment, Em said nothing.
Then his expression hardened with recognition and relatability.
“They always do.”
There was something about Em’s tone for once, he wasn’t being sarcastic, or mocking Morty’s situation.
He sounded like he understood.
“…He’ll come back for me, right?” Morty looked at Em, his tone was hopeful.
Em’s face froze.
‘Mortys really are pathetic and bred for forgiveness, huh.’
He thought to himself, but he didn’t speak up for once. Instead, he said:
“Do you really believe that?”
“..i wanna believe it.” Morty spoke up, his voice trembled slightly.
Em was quiet for a split second, but he ended up not knowing how to reply to such statement. Before he could say anything, Em glanced down at the device on his wrist, checking the time and whatever information was displayed on the screen.
A list of errands popped up in a small hologram projecting from his wrist.
Morty tilted his head. “..What?”
“I wasn’t actually here for you.”
“Oh.” Morty said disappointedly.
Em sighed, looking mildly annoyed at the situation. He had come to this dimension for a few things he needed to pick up, not to babysit a stranded Morty.
He looked back at Morty.
“..Alright, i cant leave you here all by yourself.”
Morty’s face brightened by the second.
“..but we’re going on some errands beforehand.”
Morty’s face lit down a bit, but he was still hopeful. “Errands?”
“Don’t make me change my mind.”
Morty stared at him for a second before reluctantly following.
“What kind of errands?”
“Things.” Em said coldly, he didn’t need to specify much.
“Thats not an answer..” Morty said, almost whining.
“Well—Thats the only one you’re getting.”
Morty sighed. “Great. So i’m stranded on an alien planet with you, and now I’m running errands.”
Em glanced over his shoulder.
“You could always just stay here.”
“…I’ll come with you.”
“Thought so.”
