Easy

Summary:

Post-103 gapfiller drabble, Justin pov. The ride to the loft.

Work Text:

I’d been sitting there quietly, trying and probably failing to not look too pleased with myself. I couldn’t believe it had been that easy. Not to steal Brian’s tricks. I mean, I know I’m hot. But to get his attention back, make him want me again, take me home again… I didn’t even have to try that hard.

We were in Brian’s Jeep, heading to his loft. He hadn’t said more than a few words between the dance floor and the driver’s seat, just a “good” when I told him my friend didn’t need a ride (we came in her mom’s car), followed by “c’mon.”

I didn’t want to give him a reason to reconsider, so I wasn’t saying anything either. Then he spoke up.

“Quite the Babylon debut.”

I turned to look at him, a grin I could not contain on my face. But I just said, “I had fun.”

“How’d you even get in?”

“I look damn good for being born in 1952.”

He laughed. (I love that sound.) “Vic? Should’ve known.”

I relaxed and let myself babble… on.

“When we first got there, I didn’t think I wanted to stay. I asked Daph if she wanted to go. It just seemed like a lot. Kind of intimidating.”

“Intimidating? To the boy who told me confidently he was into leather?”

Haha. Yes. But once I started dancing, I felt amazing.”

“When you had two guys groping you?”

Brian’s hands tightened on the steering wheel when he said that. Interesting.

“No, even before that. Not that I minded that part. But the part after was my favorite.”

I saw the hint of a smile tug at his lips before he tamped it down. He was remembering claiming me on the dance floor, removing their groping hands. I fed the memory by playing with my open shirt and watched him steal a glance. My stomach, my chest, my neck were covered in glitter, dried sweat, Brian’s saliva.

He cleared his throat. “I don’t want you to get the wrong idea. Tonight is just… tonight.”

“I know. Like I don’t want you to think, next time you see me at Babylon, that I’m there for you.”

“Right.”

He knows better. So do I.

It was easy getting Brian to claim me because I didn’t have to make him want me again. I just had to remind him that he still did.
