Summary
It's hard for Jordan to let go of the issues surrounding their gender presentation, their parents rejected it, the rank creators at Goldolkin rejected it. Hell, even idiots in class rejected it, why shouldn't they think Marie would do the same? The pair have a very difficult and uncomfortable conversation about their relationship and what it means after Dusty's infamous party hookup.

“What?” Jordan asks, brows creasing ever so slightly. The tension between them quiet, something palpable for only them. He quickly grew to realize just how serious Marie was.
“I didn't realize you were complaining” Jordan lowers their hand from her face, the mood shifts immediately and Marie admits this is all about to blow up. “Girls like you only want me like this, what the hell am I supposed to think, Marie?”
“Girls like me …?”
“You know what I mean!” Jordan completely disconnects their physical nature from the conversation, hands held up in the air. “Perfect girls that everyone wants, you just sit up on your perfect pedestal and frown down at everyone else!”
