Как будто Алексу снова десять, и они с Марком играют в жмурки в коридорах родительского дома в Сервере: у брата чуткий слух, поэтому надо ступать бесшумно — Алекс наизусть знает, какие половицы скрипят, где лежат ковры, о которые можно запнуться, и умеет проскальзывать через узкую прихожую прямо у Марка под носом. Последнее — особый повод для гордости: от выставленных вперёд рук Алекс уходит играючи, одним плавным движением, поэтому жмурки продолжаются часами и не надоедают. У него хорошо получается быть незаметным, и выдаёт его Марку только довольное дыхание на грани смеха, когда Алекс дразнится, пробегая опасно близко к брату.

Phillip's mother had wanted nothing to do with Phillip, so John was the one who took the small kid in at just the age of twenty. Five years later, they were still living in New York, though money was getting tight.
Then John met a very interesting man by the name of Alexander Hamilton.
