Summary
Regulus Black hates Christmas.
Particularly because he works in a nightclub, and witnesses what fools people become when Christmas is involved. He hates everything about Christmas. He also hates love. People in love, people talking about love. Everything about it. Also, he hates happiness. He's just a well rounded grumpy ball of don't fucking talk to me.
Which is why, when an extremely attractive man on the tube begins striking up conversations with him, he finds himself immediately disgusted by his stupid curls and his desperately captivating eyes. Not to mention the size of him, tucked into well-fitting suits and daring to look down at Regulus with that stupid smile. Tube guy appears everywhere it seems, and the idiot can't seem to help but invade Regulus' privacy, daring to ask his name, ask after his day. The audacity.
But as Christmas approaches, Regulus finds himself unwillingly drawn to the idiot with the curls, who makes it his mission to show Regulus that Christmas is brilliant. This agreement is made on one condition: Regulus has to allow himself to be taken on a date. One date, becomes two and eventually, Regulus concedes that maybe, perhaps, Christmas isn't too bad after all.

“You know, you're the last person I'd expect this from."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah. Sirius, maybe, Remus maybe, but you? You're way too soft.”
James' eyes twinkled, "Soft, huh?”
"I mean. There was that one time a giant spider got into the house and everyone was screaming to kill it and you took him outside with a cup...?”
“Well. What did that spider ever do to me?" James dropped his gaze. An ugly pause. Then: "You must think I'm a monster."
“Hey.” Regulus holds the sugar in surrender, “I’m not a cop. I’m a diabetic… A diabetic with skewed morals. I get it.”
James looks up, and smiles. Rueful, bitter; Regulus wants to thumb it away. James gaze drops down to Regulus’ hands, as he unscrews the lid, spoons two sugars into his cup, eyes stalking the way Regulus pours the milk and begins stirring, with a look so mindful he's like a ghost of the guy who opened that door for him, all those years ago. It makes Regulus straightens a little, flushing, but he doesn’t shake, no, not once.
orJames Potter shoots a CEO, and Regulus wants to thank him for his service.

"Actually, Reggie, would you mind sharing with James?"
Regulus' eyes widened and he clenched his jaw tightly. He chanced a glance at the bespectacled man, only to find James already looking at him. They both quickly averted their eyes. "I-- If I must," Regulus replied, trying his best to sound bored. He must have let some of his excitement leak into his tone because he could see James' lips curve into a smile from the corner of his eye. "But Potter sleeps on the floor," he added, just to bring the older man's ego down a few notches. James smile immediately disappeared.
