Shinsou ignored the way Uraraka stared at him. His torso was warm, and it was wet, and he knew blood soaked through his uniform. Knew it pooled around him in some sick, twisted halo. He stared up at the collapsed section of the ceiling, counting the glow-in-the-dark stickers Tokoyami had placed there when they moved into the dorms.
“. . . Sensei,” Uraraka whispered, terrified and exhausted. Grief fluttered over her features, making her mouth twist into a frown, as she continued, softer than a dying flame. A last breath. “We don’t have seven minutes.”
Hitoshi remembered little after that.
