Dennis lays in the bed with a stillness so absolute it feels staged. A ventilator breathes for him in measured sighs, the sound too rhythmic to be human. It almost looks like he’s a kid pretending to sleep in the backseat of his parents’ car, hoping to be carried inside by strong paternal arms.
Robby would do anything for that to be the case. Instead, it is sedation that has smoothed away the sharpness from Dennis’s features.

Notes:
January-March 1273: Fit For Pearls is the story of how she meets and woos her companion, Luliana, and also lays some groundwork for other relationships and her reign. As I'd meant this to be a shorter work, it contains none of Ciri's own POV, so the series is partly to rectify that.
The Boy General, Unexpected Tricks, A Genuine Talent, Tenuous Position, and Survive are all a miniseries of prequels, set during the third war in 1272, detailing some of Morvran's wartime activities.
A Matter of Principle drags Morvran's parents into the continuity, showing some of his mother's behind-the-scenes work as well.
The Golden Towers begins to catch us up to the events of FFP, being a more direct prequel and detailing Ciri's journey to Nilfgaard.

The premise of this AU is basically that rather than Leland (the name of Jim's dad from the Treasure Planet artbook) marrying Sarah and having a kid young, they skipped the marriage step and went straight to having a kid out of wedlock, Leland panicked and fled, leaving behind a pregnant, unmarried Sarah. After Jim is actually born and the weight of parenthood fully hits her, she gets on a ship in a last desperate bid to try and find Leland in the fragile hope that maybe physically seeing his living son will get him to come back and at least be a father for Jim's sake since she doesn't want her boy to grow up fatherless. That same ship just happens to be one Silver is working on as cook (no piracy shenanigans, just a regular, steady job) and long story short, Sarah went on the boat to look for Jim's father and ended up finding a different man who wanted to be his father.
The stories that take place in this series are what follows after that. I may not write them in chronological order depending on what I feel up to, but I'll at least make sure they're in chronological order for the series.
