Summary
In the summer between their college graduation and an internship placement starting, Jayce and Viktor take a road-trip down to Jayce's family home. What starts as pinning becomes harder to ignore the longer they're there, with every situation pulling them closer, plunging Viktor deeper into Jayce's life.

“I missed you,” is what he says, and Viktor leans into his touch like it's exactly what he wanted to hear, his free arm wrapping around Jayce's waist in kind. Viktor presses a warm, dewy cheek to Jayce's jaw, and Jayce can feel the smug grin against him.
“Did you? Is that why you've been staring ever since we parted?” Viktor's breath is hot, his tone playfully, smugly accusatory as it ghosts across Jayce's ear and sends a pleasant shiver down his spine.

Summary
Viktor blinks, eyes darting toward the scarf (hung neatly on the coat rack next to the lab door) that he has worn every day since Jayce had given it to him. "Another one?" Viktor asks quietly, sounding bewildered.
"Another one," Jayce confirms. He decides immediately that he will do this again next year. And the year after. That he and his mother will continue giving Viktor gifts until he stops looking confused at the idea of anyone wanting to give him something.
Five times Jayce knitted something for Viktor, and the one time Viktor crocheted Jayce something in return.

Summary
"I remember you always finding ways to surprise me," Viktor says, leaning against the counter as Jayce pours a jug of water into the pot, then dumps a small bowl of measured spices in as well. "And I was wondering if I could… return the favor."
"By… surprising me?" Jayce asks, glancing at Viktor.
"I want to handle all of the planning," Viktor rushes on, before he can lose his nerve, "prepare our picnic myself, that sort of thing."
Jayce's eyebrows are raised, the corner of his mouth lifted in a little rueful smile. "Do I need to dress up?" he asks, "I'm afraid I don't cut quite so fine a figure nowadays, but I can certainly clean up."
Silly man, you are just as handsome as you always were, Viktor thinks to himself.
"Whatever is comfortable," Viktor replies aloud. "Just… allow me to take care of everything else. Just this once."
Jayce chuckles, stirring the soup with a wooden spoon. "I won't deny you," he says, looking amused, "I look forward to celebrating this… flower festival with you, Vik."
Or, Viktor takes Jayce on a date.
