    The sword was much better kept than the rest of the shrine, with only a bit of moss and plant growth around it. The bronze of the hilt was shining brightly, the constellations etched into the blade clear and unmarred. The metal itself was almost iridescent, pinks and blues catching the dappled light filtering through the leaves as Mira tilted her head this way and that. It was, honestly, beautiful.

    “I’m gonna take it,” Zoey said.

     

    OR

    Zoey and Mira find an ancient sword at an abandoned shrine in the middle of the woods. Surely there won’t be any consequences to them taking it—right?

    Double-checking her golden contact lenses in the mirror, Rumi fluffs out her hair—long and loose from its braid—so that it flows in waves behind her, a vision of violet cascading down the black velvet of her suit jacket. She tugs on her signature white butler gloves, straightens her lavender tie, and steps out of the back and onto the floor itself.

    The bell dings, a signal for new cafe guests arriving in the waiting room.

    Perfect timing.

    Rumi grins sharply, schooling her features into classy neutrality, then glances through the window of the door to the waiting area, sees two freshly familiar women, and yelps.

    Or: Rumi's balancing life as a university student by day and themed cafe butler by night when the fall semester starts, where she quickly finds herself partnering with two classmates—Zoey and Mira—for a group project. They're friendly and sweet, but there's just one small problem: they've taken to frequenting the exact cafe where Rumi works and unknowingly requesting her butler persona, Artemis, every single visit.

    There was a princess.

    Nine years after Honmoon Palace fell to a mysterious foe, Kang Mira and Choi Zoey live under the ruthless thumb of the Kang merchant family risen to power with the absence of the ruling Ryu Clan. Zoey, the sweet half-blooded outsider, and Mira, the headstrong and wayward daughter of the Kangs, escape Honmoon Village in fire and blood to leave behind the cold venom of cruel words and coerced obligations.     Loosely interconnected and featureing certain consistent concepts throughout - like the fact that the Honmoon is semi-sentient, Huntr/x are basically soulmates, and oh, of course, dog-motive Rumi :)

    Part I - Canon compliant work, follows the girls' story before, during and after the movie.
    Part II - Canon divergence, Rumi dies (They find her in the dirt by the tree)
    Part III - Canon compliant, Rumi, longing and loneliness.
    Part IV - Technically canon compliant, Huntr/x explicitly as soulmates.
    Part V - Canon divergence, Mira and Zoey remembering moments they had with Rumi after her death.
