He ia still frozen, chest tight as he for some reason, continue to hold his breath, continue to wait for the shoe to drop, for the news to change and for a gun to be shot to leave another child an orphan because this was Gotham. She rejects peace like she rejects kindness and anything good. The crime rate and the violence of it all was so bad that even the American goverment and the world has turned their backs on her as they'd rather wiped their hands clean of any responsiblity.
"B?", Dick's (his first light) worried voice breaks through the haze and he flinches violently, like he had just been hit. Suddenly, the coms go quiet as the air shakes with a fragility that Bruce hates. "Tati, are you okay?".
And Bruce Wayne, Batman, orphaned prince of Gotham breaks.
Last night, Gotham had its first night with zero violent crimes in fifty-four years
