“Hey, Toms, are you awake? I just wanted to ask you a few questions. You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to.”
Tommy shrugged, not bothering to roll and face Grian.
He sighed, knowing that that was as close to a yes as he was going to get. “Okay. You know we all care about you, right? You may not have been here for long, but we all want to help you.”
After a moment of hesitation, Tommy nodded.
“Good, good. That’s good. We just want you safe and happy.” Grian took a deep breath. “Tommy, before… before a few days ago, had you ever considered hurting yourself?”

Summary
He can feel the surface growing closer, the gradual release of pressure that leaves him feeling light and untethered. It feels like childhood, nearly. He can feel the reefs nearby and the warmth of the waves, bathed in a sunlight he had half believed he'd invented, a figment of nostalgia.
When the nets drop around him, he flails only for a moment.

Elena blinked. “Peter, how did you-?”
“They’re” – sneeze – “almost” – sneeze – “as” – sneeze – “pretty” – sneeze – “as” – sneeze – “you”. Peter sniffled, blowing his nose loudly into a handkerchief. “Sorry, my allergies are acting up.”
How did you recognise me? Elena wanted to ask.

“Caspian?”
“Yes, Gillion?”
“You’re not quite like me, are you?” Gillion’s voice is hushed. He isn't sure if he wants to hear the answer.
______________
Gillion and Caspian are similar in some ways, and in others... not so much. They make it work, and Gillion works through a bit of his past in the process.

Summary
After just barely escaping the Undersea, Chip, Gillion, Jay, and Aurora return to Zero. Aurora is reminded of the responsibility she carries, and the people she left behind.
Luckily, the Riptide Pirates have more their fair share of stories to lift her spirits.
(Aka Aurora is a mess, and the Albatrio sort of helps. She sort of helps them too)
