Summary
Wei Wuxian had been thinking a lot since Lan Wangji first announced the trip to Lotus Pier. He had observed his pristine husband, watching as, little by little, Lan Wangji seemed to slip further and further beyond his grasp.
A part of him feared the inevitable: Lan Wangji had lost affection for him. But he could not be certain of that. If he based it solely on the words of the Senior Lan disciples or the whispers of the Lan Elders, then maybe his husband had realized they were not a good match after all.
But there was a part of Wei Wuxian that still hoped that it was not true, and there was one way to put his fears to rest.
(Admittedly, this was one of Wei Wuxian's stupider ideas.)
