Test subject 006 was turning out to be quite the disappointment. Despite years of training, the boy simply didn’t seem to be improving. Yes, he could lift smaller objects and light up a few lightbulbs, although his control and speed were lacking. But he couldn’t keep his feet planted within his circle for more than a second when facing off against 002. He couldn’t manipulate objects heavier than a few pounds. And the day a litter of kittens had been brought in for the children to play with, 006 had been entirely unable to complete the task given to him. He had only cried, and failed.

Thor adjusts the other man’s arm over his shoulders and looks up at the stars. Somewhere out there, he knows, is Asgard. Somewhere out there is his beloved home. But the golden palaces that tower so proudly over his world cannot be seen from here, nor can his mother’s warm voice be heard, singing the sweet songs of his childhood.
“I stormsvarte fjell,” Thor sings, and puts one foot in front of the other, pushing them into a walk once again. “Jeg vandrer alene.”

“Yeah. In the Core, people believe that every person has one, a special symbol that’ll follow them through their life. They say if two people have the same symbol, it means they’re meant to be together.”
“What, like… soulmates or something?” Luke asked.

Summary
Buffy and books are usually non-mixy things. Not because she doesn't like reading; she would if she had time, or so she tells herself. But a slayer's life doesn't leave much room for the enjoyment of literature, not when there are so many other things to do like study, slay, try to find time to spend with her friends and boyfriend, and wrangle her kid sister who just arrived in town. But an encounter with a strange librarian and a special edition of Pride and Prejudice just for Buffy is about to change that. When Buffy, her friends, and a few enemies find themselves trapped in the plot of Jane Austen's beloved novel, the only way out is to embrace their roles and reach the end--or be trapped indefinitely. It doesn't help that they all keep forgetting their old lives in Sunnydale. Well, almost everyone. Spike seems immune. Moreover he seems to know the plot like the back of his hand--and he isn't happy to discover he's been cast as Mr. Darcy. Especially when he finds out the Slayer is playing Elizabeth Bennet.
Will the creature keeping them in the story stick to script, or will the plot thicken in unexpected ways? -
