Summary
Rudo gasped awake, and before he could even move, he knew. He couldn’t even think, he just felt it in his bones, heart, blood, soul, arms—
It was going to be a bad day.
OR:
Five times someone helped Rudo with his hands without needing to be asked, and one time Rudo finally asked for help.

Summary
“Gountess?” Rudo asked, half-expecting the all-consuming emptiness around them to swallow the word before it even reached the older boy in front of him.
The boy turned to face him, necklace swinging lightly over his shirt as he moved. Gear-patterned eyes met his own. “Yes, Rudo?”
Rudo hesitantly shuffled the few steps forward he needed to stand next to him. He needed to look up to meet Gountess’ eyes like this, but he didn’t mind. The endless white expanse seemed to eat everything around them. There was no echo to the words, nothing but absolute silence in their absence. Somehow, it was peaceful instead of alarming.
“Does it ever stop hurting?”

Summary
“You didn’t have any holidays like this up there?” Riyo asked him, propping an elbow up on the table and leaning her face on her palm, facing him. She pointed straight up with her other hand, clearly referring to the Sphere.
“Nothing like this,” Rudo said emphatically, gesturing vaguely even though this room wasn’t decorated like the mess hall or the town. They’d get the point. “Nothing that I’ve seen with decorations like you guys have here. Nothing so…colorful. And cheerful. Everyone out there today looked so… actually happy.”
Rudo gets introduced to a Ground holiday. It is entirely different to what the word holiday has meant to him all his life.

Summary
I don't want to push Sphereite culture on them, Rudo thought. He didn't want to spread that kind of poison on the people who had been so kind to him.
So it stayed locked up in the cage he made for it, where everything he brought with him from the Sphere could only ever eat away at his own insides.
No matter how much it hurt.
Or: This story is about the flowers. It was also never about the flowers.

Summary
The news headlines featured their faces for weeks after their disappearance. To Izuku, it was a slap to the face that he knew a child at his age back then should never have received. He knew Kacchan got it too.
It's been eight long years. The heroes never came for them, and they probably never would.
And then the universe decided another slap to the face was in order.
(Or, Izuku and Katsuki are taken for their quirks at a young age, and now they're tasked with a mission that they don't know they'll be strong enough to see through.)

Summary
The cultural learning curve, and the processing of...all of it.
It’s a learning process, trying to acclimate to the Ground’s customs when all Rudo has ever known is the culture in the sky. It’s a learning process the other way around, too. The Cleaners want to know about him as much as he them.
It’s also a learning process trying to navigate it all without Regto. Somehow, the memories of his dad are still everywhere, even now. All he can ever do now is hold on to them and try to stay afloat.

Summary
Edward survived the fight with Kimblee despite his grevious injury. Everyone knows that. What no one knows is how close he came to not surviving it, or what he was willing to give up to make sure he did.
Years later, Mustang notices an old scar that doesn't quite look ordinary. A little digging turns into a lot of questions, and the answers lead him to a truth Edward has kept carefully to himself.
Because sometimes surviving means paying a price, and Edward has never been particularly interested in telling anyone what he paid.

Summary
Mustang blinked, flinching at a loud bang in the other room. He was… sitting down? That’s not right, he was just in the warehouse, knees pressed against concrete while pebbles dug into his skin.
What… just happened?
His mind ran a mile a minute because this cannot be possible, Ed just died, and this all happened already, and—and honestly who cares.
-------
AKA the time loop fic I craved in which Mustang keeps watching Ed die.

Summary
There was only one thing Ed needed to do: find a way to get Al's body back. He wasn't going to worry about cheerful soulmates, narcissistic colonels, or violent Xingese assassins, but life had a funny way of fucking with his plans. Ed was sure it was Ling's fault in every possible way. Plot-heavy Edling AU.
