Garak's ministrations were gentle, as gentle as Julian had always imagined he could be, and to have such attention applied to him stoked a fire inside his heart. Garak may only be trying to return the favour, to repay a friendly debt, but Julian could be selfish for a moment. He could imagine, for just a moment, while his brain was too tired to sway him from it, that Garak was his soulmate.

Kira snorted. "Yeah you can, but that one is explicitly romantic so I think most of us can skip that one for now. So fill up your plate and give some of your favourite parts to the person on your right."
Dax artfully speared a small dumpling on her fork and held it up to Kira who gleefully ate from it, mirth twinkled in their eyes as they freely expressed their love for one another. Yet Garak was stuck there, paralysed by indecision, did he take food he knew Julian would enjoy whereas Garak would not, or did that lessen the meaning behind his actions? Did he claim it to be less romantic on Cardassia and thus indulge this horrible desire?

When Crystal and Niko make plans to watch London’s Pride Parade, Edwin is disappointed he will not be able to join them — until Charles finds a solution. But going along to the parade isn’t just a celebration of Pride, and sparks some realisations that Charles can no longer ignore.
Charles grinned at him and leaned in close across Crystal’s two-person sofa so Edwin would hear him over the music as he said, “Putting the two of us to shame, aren’t they? Feel like we should’ve dressed up.”
“It’s not too late for you boys to change into something fabulous!” Crystal pointed out from her perch on the coffee table, where Niko was putting the finishing touches to her make-up.
“Nah,” Charles scoffed, but there was a hesitation before he spoke, and a deflated quality to the edges of his smile. “I don’t think it’d suit me.”
“I think you’d be surprised,” Crystal said.
