"You know it's weird to think that everything has led to this," Ekko said while basking in the warmth of the crackling bonfire.
His friends, no, his family danced around him carelessly, slaves to the rhythm of the upbeat music. As if tomorrow wasn't of any concern.
But his eyes were only locked onto one person.The girl with short, messily chopped blue hair, whom he couldn't imagine starting this dreaded day of tomorrow without.
For now, though, they could just sit together and enjoy the happiness around them, dream of what good might happen after they hop on their hoverboard and fight with all they've got.
Or: Ekko is forced to rethink all of his beliefs when he strays into the alternate universe while working with Powder on the Z-drive.
