BB, BB-whatever-number-it-is-now, Black Buddy, Crow, whatever you wish to call him, as prided himself in several things. Being logical, quiet, composed, and good at getting things done.
But that's not an easy set of skills to have. To be somebody like that requires a lifetime of self discipline and control. Something that is not easy to have in this day and age.
So what happened when BB was exposed to reality shattering horrors nearly every day? When death is not the end but instead a minor roadblock? When your body is no longer yours? When every day, you're forced to be reminded of a life you tried desperately to leave behind?
AKA BB in his early career days Not Handling Any Of It Well. And CONTACT's response to that.

There's a reason Soundwave doesn't let many, if any at all see his face.
The only exception would be the casettes, seeing as how they're practically symbiotes to him.
But when old wounds begin to fester once more, Soundwave realizes that he needs another mech's help.
Thankfully, there's somebody who can definitely help him. Somebody he trusts perhaps too much.
