“Jimin-ah.” Jungkook’s voice is tense. “What are you doing on that couch, sweetheart?”
Jimin’s eyes squeeze shut, cunt clenching tight. “Nothing,” he says. “I’m doing nothing.”
“Tell me,” Jungkook rasps. “Tell me if your hand is between your thighs right now.”
Jimin’s face turns bright red. “I’m not—”
“Don’t lie to me, Jimin.”
There’s so much authority in Jungkook’s voice that it has Jimin going limp with submission, head lolling back as his eyelashes flutter, his hand pressing down on his aching clit as he tries to regain his rapidly dwindling sensibilities.
But the wine makes him braver. Makes him open his mouth and admit shameless things like, “It is.”
Jungkook doesn’t let him get away with being vague. “It’s what?”
“My hand,” Jimin gasps out. “It’s—it’s between my thighs.”

Summary
He always feels a bit like they’re stuck in a race where Jungkook is faster than him. Where he’s miles ahead and unreachable in a way that’s unfathomable. Where Jimin is struggling to keep up and is forever destined to stare at Jungkook’s back, a hand perpetually extended to try and reach for him.
Jimin doesn’t want to surpass Jungkook. He just wants to run alongside him. As an equal, as a friend, as a partner. Is that truly so much to ask for?
Or: Following the end of their Vietnam trip, Jimin stumbles across a video compilation of the rocky relationship he had with Jungkook at the very beginning of their debut years. Slapped with a blast from the past and suddenly drowning in insecurities he thought he'd long suppressed, he decides that slowly pulling away from Jungkook is the only right thing to do.
Jungkook, however—a redeemed man, a pining expert, and someone with an extremely low tolerance for any kind of space between them—has much to say about it.
