Jisung didn’t look arrogant anymore.
He looked like someone trying really hard to look calm.Which was so much worse, actually. So much more unfair. Because what was Minho supposed to do with this beautiful guy looking all polished and untouchable, only for the footage to betray him for three stupid frames?
He was supposed to do nothing except cut a clean trial video, send it in, get paid, and buy overpriced fish for three cats who had absolutely no understanding of the economy.
Or: Minho gets hired to edit J.One’s YouTube videos. Somewhere between terrible file names, increasingly personal footage, and a rapidly growing Do Not Export folder, keeping things professional becomes a problem.

Chan, frozen in place, grapples with the knowledge that this kid, living and breathing and fidgeting Jisung, standing at the height of the armrest with wide beady eyes, sunken cheeks and overlong hair, came out of his sister five years ago. It doesn’t make sense. None of it makes sense.

God, Minho.
The man that’s holding him so tight he can’t breathe. The man that had shown him what true passion feels like, how good it can feel. Minho, who was kissing his head over and over as a silent plea for Jisung to stay.
And he will, for the night. Because as selfish as it was, he needed to live out that fantasy. Even if it lasted less than 24 hours, and the night next would be spent in the arms of a man who never truly loved him. Even if he’d have to live the rest of his life wondering if Minho was the sign he needed. Even if it made Jisung the villain, he needed this.

Time after time, Jisung's relationship has proved to be nothing but pain and heartbreak. After one fight too many, he found himself pushed into the arm's of a blonde dancer that shows him how love truly feels. -

Jisung moved to the desk by the window, setting the hefty manual aside with a soft thud. He needed a plan. Running his fingers through his already messy hair, he pulled his worn notebook from his backpack. The same one filled with half-finished lyrics and melody ideas that came to him at 3 AM. Flipping to a clean page, Jisung clicked his pen several times as he stared at the blank paper. Cat Sitting for Dummies, he wrote at the top of the page, underlining it twice for emphasis. Or how to make Minho's cats fall in love with me in ten steps. This was just like studying for an exam, right? Break it down into manageable chunks. He glanced over at Minho's encyclopedia of cat care, feeling his stomach tighten. Step One: Convince Minho and his cats that I already understand the mysterious creatures I'm about to cohabitate with.

Or: Broke grad student Jisung takes a cat sitting job despite knowing nothing about cats. He concocts a plan to make sure Minho and his cats don’t want to fire him (only to end up wanting to keep them forever).

Summary
At that moment, Jisung is reminded of a lot of things. The serendipity of a lucky encounter, the inevitability of falling fast and forever. The tantalizing scent of honeysuckle, the eclipse, the ache of a one-sided love. Four years of it.
But he’s also reminded of Minho himself. The gentle hands and witty brain that have put him together over the years. Kept him grounded, comfortable, safe. Loved. Maybe not in the same way that Jisung loves him, but love nonetheless.
Jisung will take anything he’s willing to give. Would be grateful to fall apart in his embrace.
“Hyung, are you—” Jisung clears the twinge in his throat. “Are you being serious? You want to sleep with me?”
(OR: Jisung fears his dreams; Minho fears his heart. It takes them four years to figure out where it all started.)
