Summary
Keiji doesn’t look up, he doesn’t need to. He knows, just by pounding in heart and the echoing of footsteps; by the finality of Bokuto’s last words, he knows that Bokuto left. So similar, familiar. Identical to the sounds that Keiji’s own footsteps made when he walked away those years ago.

Akaashi Keiji finally comes home.

Summary
“One day, I’ll make you proud. I’ll be a great adventurer!”
Laughing fondly, the father wrapped his arm around his son’s shoulders. “I have no doubt you will be the best adventurer the world has ever seen.” He craned his head to look down at his child. “But don’t forget about your family, understand?”
Eyes lit with admiration, Ajax grinned and nods in obedience to the request. “Family comes first.” He said it like it’s a mantra.

Summary
The truth is that Childe has a secret. The truth is that Childe doesn’t remember much of his time in Liyue. He remembers the boring, seemingly endless paperwork, remembers collecting the sigils of permission that became a crucial part of his plan, remembers the fall of the Geo Archon at the Rite of Descension, summoning the Overlord of Vortex, fighting Lumine at the Golden House, and at the end of it all, finding out that he had been one-upped by Signora, the eighth harbinger.
What he doesn’t remember, however, is everything outside of that. He doesn’t remember how he spent his leisure time in Liyue, what he had for lunch and dinner, how the first Lantern Rite he experienced was like. There are gaps in his memories that he doesn’t know how to fill, periods in his stay in Liyue that feel like endless, dark pits. He had never felt the need to fill the gaps, because all he needs to know is that he had played his part excellently and met all the Geo Archon’s expectations.
But after seeing how concerned the travelling duo looked... he supposes his business trip to Liyue would be a good chance as any to start piecing them together.
And perhaps he could start with this mysterious man named Zhongli.

Summary
Childe smiled at the baby in his arms, his tiny hands moving in grabbing motions as his body contorted in his hold. It seemed like at least someone was happy with their trip.
"Are you excited?" He whispered to his son, tickling his belly just so he could hear another wet giggle.
The baby almost seemed to nod, a trick of his eyes for sure, but it made him smile anyways. "We'll just see doctor Baizhu and, hopefully, no one else." Childe whispered again, more to himself than the baby, but it did not reassure him the slightest in the end.
After keeping their son a secret from Zhongli and any other person besides his family, Childe is left in a dilemma: go back to Liyue, where everything he lived felt like an elaborate lie, to learn why only now his half-adeptus son is growing horns and risk seeing Zhongli again. Or keep hiding himself with Leshy at his family's home in the snowy plains of Snezhnaya.

Summary
"So, what does this child have to tell us?"
Childe shrugged, trying to maintain the pose of someone in absolute control of the situation.
"Well... I imagine Rosalyne mentioned something about our mission in Liyue, right?"
"Yes," Columbina answered promptly, tilting her head in an angelic manner. "She said you were dating the Geo Archon at the time."
...
The silence that followed in the courtyard garden was absolute, broken only by the soft sound of the wind against the glass panes.
Time seemed to freeze. Childe locked up on the spot. His fingers, which were holding a delicate sugar pastry, went limp. The pastry slipped, crashed to the floor, and shattered into tiny pieces.
"Hm... Did I say something wrong, Tartaglia?" Columbina asked, genuinely curious about his sudden paralysis.
"YES! I mean... no! Agghhh!" Childe covered his face with both hands, elbows propped on the table, letting out a muffled groan of pure mental collapse. "It's complicated!"
