It’s January.
It’s January, a week after the holiday season ended. After champagne glasses clinked and drunk kisses were shared, a multicolored oversized duck-shaped chandelier lowered on a pole to ring in the change of a four-digit number. Classed had resumed mere days ago and here Quackity sits at the side of a twin bed waiting for the thermometer to chime to determine the damage. The shrill beeping cuts through the silence. Ignoring the sniffles to stare at the high number with disdain, he methodically administers two doses of medication to the half- asleep victims before crossing the room to switch off the light and closing the door with a soft click.
He feels like the duck really dropped the ball here.
