Summary
Set after season 7 of Buffy and season 5 of Angel.
Buffy learns of the apocalypse in LA and immediately rushes there to find badly-wounded Angel and Spike.
As they recover she vows to stay and fight by their side, but keeps her heart close to her chest. She's already dated them, after all, and after her vacation in Rome, she's ready to take a new shot at 'normal'. Angel isn't too inclined either, if he's learned anything, it's that he brings suffering to those closest to him. And Spike? Well... Spike's just along for the ride...
They'll find that life, however, frequently has plans of its own. And also perhaps figure out the mistery of those portals shimmering about, misteriously opening doors to other dimensions, pulling things through that don't belong.
Faith, Giles, Dawn, Willow and three junior slayers join them, and hopefully save the day.

Summary
Ten years ago, Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov were the two most ruthless students at University of Michigan Law School. Brilliant, combative, and incapable of staying away from each other, they spent three years trying to out-argue, outmaneuver, and outlast one another in lecture halls, libraries, and the privacy of Shane’s apartment. Somewhere between the rivalry and the obsession, they fell disastrously in love.
And then it ended horribly.
Now, a decade later, Shane is a partner at a big-time law firm in Montreal and Ilya is the star attorney in Boston who sticks up for the little guy, and they have been hired to fight on opposite sides of a heated civil trial. The case is supposed to be standard, easy, simple. Instead, it becomes a slow-motion collision with everything they spent ten years trying to bury. In court, the burden of proof is everything. As the trial drags on and old wounds reopen, Shane and Ilya are forced to confront the question they never answered the first time around. Can they prove to themselves that what they had is truly over, or has the verdict already been waiting for them all along?

Summary
The truth was, yeah, Shane married Ilya, but he’d married hockey first. He married hockey the second he signed his rookie contract with the Metros, and his courtship began long, long before. And his marriage to hockey wasn’t like his marriage to Ilya. Hockey wouldn’t ever love him back. Ilya wasn’t going to chew Shane up and spit him out at some nebulous point after he turned thirty and before he turned forty, his joints busted and his mouth full of dentures and his brain fucked to hell and back. And that marriage—his first marriage—had always come before his second, illicit shotgun wedding.
It wasn’t ideal, maybe, but that was just how things were. Hell, it was probably the same for Ilya, too. The fuck was Shane supposed to do about it? Nothing, nothing, nothing. He liked his life just the way it was. He didn’t want to do anything different. He still doesn’t. And that’s the worst, most shameful part of it all: at the end of the day, some part of Shane will always wish he could wind back time like adjusting a watch; erase that Instagram post before it ever hit the internet and go back to the life they’d had before; the life that was slowly killing them both.
