As each day goes by, it seems like something new and weird is happening to his body! It doesn't help that being near Zuko is driving him crazy in ways it never has before. Summary
For as long as he can remember, Zuko knew he would have no say in who he would marry. Anyone familiar with basic royal customs would realize it as well. Marriage wasn’t a luxury or some grand display of love; marriage was for convenience and a power move if done correctly. It meant nothing to Zuko. He was raised with the knowledge that he would one day be sent off to live with a stranger for the sake of his nation, and it didn’t matter if he ended up happy or not. His happiness didn't matter.
All this to say, when his father tells him that he is to marry a stranger from the Southern Water Tribe and use their marriage as an opportunity to spy on the enemy, Zuko knows he has no choice. It's just...he didn't expect this stranger to be so kind to him.

"People are getting.. angsty about me finding a suitor."
That almost has Sokka scoffing, yet he holds it back. Zuko, already finding a suitor? "Don't tell me you're trying to find a suitor already." Sokka says in a tone that.. kinda means.. if Zuko says yes, he may die a tiny bit in the inside. No, he absolutely will.
The Fire Lord shakes his head. "No, no— Agni, no." Zuko replies with a nervous laugh, "I cannot.. I just— the pressure for an heir, it gets higher when you're my age and… the Fire Nation is.. the way it is." He trails off, sighing.
Or: One night of Sokka pretending to be the courting the Fire Lord leads to a morning after in his bed. They’re able to plan a date after his next work trip, only there’s two major issues. Sokka’s ship gets lost after a storm. And— Toph’s seismic senses have detected a new Fire Nation royal.

Summary
The war is over, and at barely seventeen, Zuko has a nation to rebuild, a world to make peace with, and far too many people with opinions on how an omega should rule the Fire Nation.
Turns out all of that is much easier when compared to falling in love with an alpha who used to be your enemy—and who immediately rejects you, claiming he would never date someone from the Fire Nation.
Has the heart he thought was already shattered somehow broken all over again? Yes.
Will he keep moving forward? He wouldn't be Zuko if he didn't.
Still, it would be a lot easier if Sokka didn't seem increasingly determined to stick his nose into Zuko's business.

He probably wants her, Zuko thought, a sharp, familiar knot tightening in his stomach, probably loves her.
"I'd like that," Zuko said quietly, his voice rough but firm. If only you could give it to me.

Looking in the mirror's reflection he could see himself as attendants added adornments to his hair. Taking a deep breath to keep from wincing something poked his scalp for a moment.

Scented oil was tapped carefully to the skin behind his ear. The smell from the bottles intense when the attendants had to lean closer.
This was all utterly ridiculous.
All of this for an alpha he had never met. All of this for a political plot his father had come up with.

“That!” Peter said. He waved his hand at Matt, encompassing his entire form. “That–that alpha thing you’re doing.”
Matt’s eyebrows raised. “What alpha thing?”
After MJ’s rejection of their bond, Peter gets sick. Then he gets sicker. Matt offers to help Peter through it in the way that only an alpha can.

Any other moment, Peter would chuckle at the comment, but there’s this ghastly, disbelieving expression on Frank’s face that makes any laughter die in his throat.
