The man closed his eyes. Zanka had never seen him look like he didn't have control of a situation before, always so confident, but right now, his face creased with a somber expression. It wasn't right. An expression like that, twisted by grief and worry, didn't belong on a face like Enjin's.
"They didn't make it. It's just us, kid."
Things go sideways on a long-range mission deep into the polluted zone. As the only survivors, Enjin and Zanka have to find a way to get home, before their limited resources run out.

Everyone on the ground seems to have a traumatic backstory, and honestly they are so real for that. Living on the ground is just like living in hell, and any solace you find always turns to shit.
Like, always always turns to shit.
A story in which you expereince true rock bottom, and from there the only way is up, but it's a hard path to take. Especially when the only thing you don't want to do is fight, and your team captain is slowly trying to convince you otherwise.
Now wanting to fight trash beats is one thing, and the disdain for fighting humans is another. But yourself? Yeah no, on team Akuta that's the one thing you really gotta fight for.
