Summary
When Jiang Cheng finds the unstamped letter in his mailbox, he doesn’t immediately think anything of it. It happens frequently enough that some religious groups or protesters go from house to house to deliver their letters and Jiang Cheng has half a mind simply throwing it away without even reading it.
But then he catches sight of his name on the envelop and that’s when he starts to worry.
He still takes the letter with him into his apartment, unwilling to read it out in the open, but instead of immediately opening it once he’s inside he thumbs the envelope for a while.
Surely it cannot be. This hasn’t happened in a long time and Wen Xu should still be in prison.
Jiang Cheng is probably worrying for nothing.

Summary
One moment Jiang Cheng’s evening is going fine and in the next his heart is torn to shreds, and all it takes are three words.
“I’m seeing someone,” Nie Mingjue quietly says as he pushes his food around on his plate and Jiang Cheng freezes up completely.

Summary
Jiang Cheng has been coming over for long enough that Nie Mingjue probably sees him as another little brother, so Jiang Cheng’s chances are really slim.
And that’s okay.
Or at least it was, right until Nie Mingjue decided to go out exactly one year ago and come back with a thigh tattoo.

Summary
When Nie Mingjue breaks up with Jiang Cheng he decides then and there that he will not let his siblings suffer through the same thing. And it seems like Nie Huaisang is not quite ready to let his own brother or Jiang Cheng live through it either.
That the (temporary) break-up is the catalyst to fix almost everyone's problems is just an added bonus.

Summary
The entire flight is silent, which is not really a good thing for Jiang Cheng. It gives him time to think. Time to think about how fucked up he is that his insecurities cause Nie Mingjue to suffer and while Jiang Cheng always had is doubts about the fact that he could be a suitable partner for anyone, this shows him more than clearly that he can’t.
He is not even a good person; how the hell could he ever be a good partner.
By the time they touch down in Qinghe Jiang Cheng has made up his mind. He will give Nie Mingjue whatever comfort he thinks he can get from Jiang Cheng but then he’ll call it off.
There is no way Nie Mingjue should be tied down to a person like him, and Jiang Cheng figures it’s better to call it off now instead of later.
