Eddie freezes, beer halfway to his mouth. “Buck… No offense but are you insane? Why would you do that?”
“To help!” Buck says, throwing an arm out wildly. “We’re never gonna get anywhere if you keep having to explain everything to me every single day.”
“We?” Buck nods vigorously. Eddie sighs and sets his beer down next to Buck’s, watching for a second as the condensation from them merges together on the tabletop. “I appreciate that, but it doesn’t mean you should–” He stops, clenches his jaw. “Look, I don’t even know how I got stuck in this, so it doesn’t matter anyway.”
