“I have observed many iterations,” Lord Superman continued, his gaze dropping briefly to Kal before returning to Lex. “Many outcomes.” His eyes sharpened. “But this-” he paused deliberately. “This relationship.”
Lex’s lip curled. “Stop dancing around it and say what you mean.”
Lord Superman’s hand moved.
Fast.
Lex’s jaw snapped sideways as his fingers caught it, grip firm enough to hurt, to anchor, to stop Lex from pulling bck as he forced his face toward his.
Kal shifted sharply, a strained sound catching in his throat. “Don’t-” he started.
Ignored.

As usual, this was all Superman’s fault.
If it wasn’t for Superman, Lex wouldn’t be here, shivering on a massive sheet of frozen rock, while the sunlight rotated around his figure until even his superior intellect could no longer comprehend what time it was or what direction he was meant to be heading in.
...In retrospect, this trip was maybe, possibly, just a little ill-advised.

Summary
Despite being described as one of the world’s most secure prison facilities, Lex Luthor keeps finding ways to break out of Belle Reve. Each time he successfully executes a prison break, the first thing that he does is to try to kill Superman; subsequently causing extreme damage to the city of Metropolis and harm to its beloved citizens.
Obviously sending him to Belle Reve isn’t working, so he’s sentenced to house arrest and has been ascribed exposure therapy... to Superman. Much to both of their dismay.
Naturally, chaos, arguments, and petty disagreements ensue

"Superman," Lex says. His hands move nimbly as he treats his wound. "I almost killed him today. It's always an almost. It's stupid. Why doesn't he just die?"
He swallows and opens his eyes to look at him. "And that would make you happy?"
Lex looks at him. Slowly, directly. "I don't know," he admits, then makes a brief, small face, as if he's considering the bad instead of the good, as if he's already doing the math in his head—he probably already is. "But I'd sleep peacefully."
"And... would you sleep peacefully if someone you loved died believing you hated them?"
Lex doesn't stop his movements, but watches him with a calm gaze. "What's that about?"
Clark shakes his head. "Nothing. Forget it."
