    Summary

Rumours, each more inane than the last, are bound to follow the Yiling Patriarch regardless of where he goes (or doesn't). When one particularly persistent tale concerning the alleged ravishing of virgins reaches the ears of the illustrious Hanguang-jun, surely he is duty-bound by the rules of his sect to go investigate the matter. Personally. For justice, of course.

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on whom you ask), Lan Wangji is nothing if not thorough.

    Summary

When Wei Wuxian brings a critically ill A-Yuan to Gusu for treatment, he offers a very enticing bargain: submitting himself freely to cleansing and punishment by the Lan. Then he adds something else that the Lan cannot possibly turn down: take in all of the Wen remnants as well, and he will destroy the Stygian Tiger Seal first.

Lan Qiren isn't about to let an opportunity to rid the world of that thing pass by. He just wishes he had a better idea of the complications doing so will bring.

    Summary

When Jin Zixuan came to Lan Wangji asking for help, he should have asked questions. He should have known that it wasn't going to be a simple trip into the countryside. But he didn't, so here he was stuck in a country village until Jin Zixuan could win back the heart of Jiang Yanli. A feat that might be easier if he didn't trip over his own two feet everytime he tried to talk to her. Lan Wangji supposed that was why Jin Zixuan brought himself and MianMian for support in his endvour. MianMian for her easy sociable nature, and Lan Wangji for his extraordinary empathic abilities as guide. It should have been an easy task, if it wasn't for the surprise return of the Jiang's ward Wei Wuxian. His constant chaparoning of Jiang Yanli was more akin to being guard dog, and Lan Wangji has to go head to head with him if he hopes to return to his library before the spring is over.
Except Wei Wuxian isn't what he seems, and the pull Lan Wangji feels for him is unlike anything he's ever felt.

“Lan Zhan,” he whispered. “What do I do?”
“Ask for help.” Came the reply.
    “From who?”
“From me. From Wen Qing. From Jiang Wanyin.”
Wei Wuxian let out a shaky breath somewhere between a sigh and a laugh and looked away. “Wen Qing is already doing all she can. Jiang Cheng… He can’t… I can’t.”
    “Wei Ying.”
“And you have your sect to worry about. I haven’t lost all my face to force you to abandon them.”
“You would rather starve than lose face?”

“A-Niang! A-Niang! Will you tell us a story?”

“Of course, my little ones. What would you like me to tell you?”

“The story about the Primordial Spirits and the High Spirits!”

    ...

“Long before the world existed as we know it today, there was nothing but the Void—deep, endless, and silent.

Then, one day, two entities emerged from the darkness. They were the first beings to ever exist, and we now call them the Primordial Spirits: the Sun and the Moon.

The Sun was energetic and full of life. He radiated warmth and light, illuminating everything his rays touched.

The Moon, on the other hand, was calm and unwavering. He brought tranquility and clarity to all who gazed upon him."

    ...

    “A-Niang?”

    “Yes?”

“What about the other spirits? When will they incarnate?”

“Oh, my dear…” Liu Mingyue's smile softened. “That is something even I cannot know.”

Or, Wei Ying and Lan Zhan awaken as the primordial spirits of Sun and Moon. They decide to go back in time, leave their sects and live together with the Dafan Wens.
