“I’m gonna find myself a sugar mommy,” Enid answers, nearly giggling as she climbs into her nest. She doesn’t bother closing the door; why would she, with Wednesday stuck in uptown? Enid’s got the whole two-story penthouse to herself. She piles her clean laundry at the foot of the bed and stretches out on her brand-new mattress. “By my calculations, it’ll be at least nine when Wednesday gets here. That’s two uninterrupted hours of coming my brains out.”
“Can’t you do that at home?”
“Obviously, but I have to be quiet when Wednesday’s here. I can be as loud as I want in someone else’s bed.”
