Logically, that will make him a legal guardian too, but he is not married to you, so he is not, but in the informality that is a family, he is your co-parent, even if he didn’t sign up for it. He means that he knew a relationship with you would include Hope because he has been there for a while but he didn’t foresee the consequences.
