Summary
"What do I smell like?"
Marat didn't know why he asked this question in particular. Interest, research, boredom or perhaps the fact that he hadn't spoken to a person simply for the sake of talking in an awfully long time. It didn't matter, neither the reason nor the answer, and yet Marat couldn't help but listen closely when Coen replied.
"Like regret."

A prompt fill from my Tumblr ask box:
"So if you go to save Sara at night, Drogos apprehends Coen with silver chains and they tie him to a tree and then wait till sunrise so he dies in the sun. I’m going INSAINE thinking about Marat sitting across from Coen tied to a tree and staring at him the whole night, what is he thinking? What is Coen doing? Trying to reason with them, struggling, swearing at them? It could be several hours. What had happened."Bookmarked by BiteNite (CanaryCry)

Summary
Marat’s first impression of the vhrakir—no, the dawnwalker—had been that he was weak. That wasn’t quite right, of course, because no vhrakir was weak. Claws and teeth and the ability to vanish and reappear with an exhaled hiss, to end Marat’s life before he could draw a breath—he knew the dawnwalker possessed all of that. If weakness wasn’t the correct description, it was something near. Soft was the word, perhaps, a vulnerability that was so close to the surface of Coen’s skin that it could be felt like body heat.

Summary
Caught between his missions and taking care of Vicho as he had promised, Coen neglects his own needs, to the point of avoiding those he cares about most for fear of hurting them. But when Marat offers him a solution that could benefit them all, an unexpected event complicates matters even further, putting them in a situation Coen wanted to avoid more than anything : being haunted by the taste of Marat's blood on his tongue.

Summary
Marat wasn't expecting to see Coen so soon after killing Brencis, reuniting with his family, but he wasn't exactly going to complain about it, at first.
It started with an invitation to join Coen and his family for dinner, and stolen moments, then that turns to distance.
Every touch becomes trying to memorize the moment and every word is a good bye.
But there's still dinner.
