He says her name like a prayer, bows his head against hers, eyes clenched shut like he’s digging deep within himself for that unbreakable restraint, reserved discipline. But she doesn’t want him to hold back. She wants him to give up. Give in.
She cups a hand on his jaw, tender and soft, and guides his lips to hers. They’re inches apart, breaths mingling in the space between, and—
“Katara? Aang? Are you guys out here?”
They pull apart faster than lightning, eyes wide and heartbeats wild.
