standing on stage, a wave of adrenaline ran through vodyanitsa. this was a normal phenomenon for her, yet somehow, this time, it felt even stronger. she paid it no mind though, and instantly stopped her mind from distracting her any further as soon as the music began to cue.
the first few songs were the same ones she had been practicing all week. she knew them as if they were engraved in the very core of her existence. the rhythm of the music flowed through not just her body, but her soul. and so it was no surprise that she had left everyone in the audience satisfied.
then came what she had been waiting for all along.

of course, she was still confident in her ability to sing this. and she simply couldn’t wait to see the look on mitya’s face once he realizes that she was performing his favorite song.
