Summary
Lestat tore his eyes away from Armand's first. "So… I'm dead," Lestat commented, trying to keep his tone level. His eyes rapidly scanned the table for any hints as to what was happening. Lestat didn't actually think that he was dead; his closest moments to death involved more white light and floating in a sea of pain and emptiness, and less a grim dinner party with some of the most important people in his life absolutely hating him. "This is death?" No reply. Okay, so Lestat supposes that he had to get more incendiary. "My father's ugly table in your shitty tower?" He looks at Magnus.
"Dying," Armand said softly. Lestat's attention snapped back to him. "This is you dying."
OR
Lestat is forced to self-reflect on his entire life (and death), all because a presence in his life that he can't ignore anymore wants to stop the Great Conversion.

Tough Cookie shrugged. "Eh, if he wants to throw his money at us, who are we to complain?" She pulled out a vape pen from her pocket and took a hit. "I tried to Google him, but nothing came up. So he has to be some DL multi-millionaire or some shit."
"What is this gentleman's name?" Lestat asked, as he waved off Tough Cookie's offer to hit her vape. "I want to personally thank our possible biggest fan."
"I might be mispronouncing it, but apparently the guy's name is Nicolas de Lenfent," Alex said.
Lestat couldn't help but burst into loud laughter the moment that the name came from Alex's lips. Luckily, his bandmates were used to weird, intense outbursts as Tough Cookie cocked an eyebrow. "I'm guessing you know this guy?" She asked, taking another hit from her pen.
"If he is who I suspect he is, then yes. I unfortunately know him rather well," Lestat replied after a few more seconds of laughter. "I will say now that Nicolas de Lenfent is not his real name."
OR
One of Lestat's biggest fans pays him a visit after buying out all of his meet-and-greet spots.

"I am attending to my responsibilities as a good host and bartender by checking up on my patrons," Volt responded smoothly. "Listening and paying attention to people is a major part of my job."
"Then, you need to refine your observation skills as I evidently desire solitude."
"How's that been working out for you?" Washford looked up from his glass of water to glare at Volt, who had his usual placid smile on his face.
"I do not appreciate the insinuation of that question." Washford took a drink of his water and silently hoped Beverly would never close on the days that he needed a drink ever again.
"There's no insinuation here, I'm just asking an honest question." The lights flickered, briefly casting the bar in darkness save for Volt's radiant hair and eyes. Washford had never noticed, or bothered to pay attention, to the fact that Volt had no pupils. "For a man who desires solitude, it sure seems to make you miserable."

Yukika Kunigami wouldn’t think of herself as nosy, but the moment that she heard the name “Rensuke” uttered by the red-haired boy, Chigiri Hyoma she believed his name was, the meddling sleeper agent trait installed into every older sister activated. Someone just called her beloved younger brother by his first name and she didn’t even know that person. This was unacceptable. She turned to her younger sister, Haruki, who was already staring at her, a mischievous glint in her eyes and her phone comfortably situated in her hands, Instagram already open. ‘His name is Chigiri Hyoma and he has an older sister named Chigiri Hanako.’ Haruki said nonchalantly. Yukika wondered if younger sisters had the same meddling sleeper agents as older ones.

Chigiri really should’ve expected this. Of course, Kunigami, stupidly loyal dreamy Kunigami, would swipe right on him too. Chigiri could only look in abject horror at the matched screen that greeted him when he opened the app the next night because he still hadn’t achieved his goal of getting some. To make it worse (or better, Chigiri couldn’t decide), the guy didn’t even shoot him a message. No “hi”, “wyd”, or “dtf?”? Chigiri was hoping for at least some indication of what he should do next. Sighing, he opened up Kunigami’s profile and was prepared to unmatch with the man, only to find his fingers hovering hesitantly over the button as if it was waiting for something to stop it. Logically, he knew that nothing was there to stop him but himself, which meant that he should do the logical thing of unmatching.
Logical he was not, as Chigiri resigned himself to just staring at the shirtless beach picture that Kunigami made his first photo.

But of course Lestat loved shedding blood and shearing through neck muscle and he loved power. He enjoyed his height over them, despite the fact objectively he wasn't even that tall. He enjoyed the sound of his voice whether it was babbling or shouting. He enjoyed the fact he could hand her a musket, teach her how to use it, and know that she couldn't blow his head off with it. She wouldn't even try.
