Naruto snorted, “Yeah, and I’m a Jinchūriki.” She was a Jinchūriki, and she knew it, but she didn’t have to tell Tsunade that.
Tsunade huffed, “Last I’d heard, Konoha’s Jinchūriki was male, and you,” she gestured vaguely in the direction of Naruto’s generous chest. “are clearly not a male.”
Naruto traced a finger absentmindedly along her bare stomach, tracing the invisible swirls of her seal. She hummed, and left it at that.

There’s the old familiar way they used to settle together on the couch, Satoru stealing popcorn from Shoko as she held it overhead, squealing, like someone drowning, and Suguru holds himself at a distance, finger tracing lines between the nubs in the fabric like they’re stars, making constellations. He’d like everything to make sense again, the old rhythms of his life, but there’s something dark inside him spilling over, and he doesn’t want it to touch them.
“Yo, Suguru,” Satoru says, mouth crammed with popcorn. “You good?”
“Yeah,” he says, watching his fingers, making sure nothing escapes. “I’m good.”
