God, they must think he’s an idiot. It doesn’t help that he made a total fool of himself at work today, missing more social cues than he could count and accidentally knocking over an entire display of canned corn. He misunderstood the lunch plans and then stumbled over himself trying to explain his train of thought, and he's pretty sure his new coworker insulted him at least three times, and he laughed because he didn’t realize until hours later that she was being mean and he should have stood up for himself.
Or, Bobby's having a bad day. His friends are here to help.

Reggie had an aesthetic. And sure, it had somehow led to him having some kind of “bad boy” image, which was quite weird to think about, considering he spent his free time tearing up at cat videos, but he liked his aesthetic. He liked the black and the red and the leather, loved the eyeliner and the piercings, and the shadow of a tattoo that became visible when he shucked his jacket.
So when Bobby’s rotating colour scheme became something of a thing for the band… Reggie just didn’t join in as much.

Summary
Gender, as a concept, a construct, a characteristic, has never really made sense to Bobby.
People in general have never made sense to Bobby, but there’s something about gender that makes him feel like he’s tuned the radio into the wrong station, and now he’s listening to songs in a language he doesn’t speak. He can appreciate the music, sure, he adores the way the string sections vibrate at the resonant frequency of his heart strings and the feel of falling to pieces as a crescendo builds only for the climax to put him back together is sometimes the only thing that makes him feel alive, but the words mean nothing, they can’t reach him.Series
