    Summary

"You guys," Olivia says in the tone of a woman who knows she is smarter than everyone else in the room and trying to be patient about it, "are way too invested in your captain's sex life."
"There is no such thing as being too invested in Rozy's sex life," Micky counters in a grave voice. "He
    pines."

It's the summer of 2014 and the dust of #RozSpotted is settling. Which is objectively good. Because Ryan Carmichael has a plan and it does not involve staying out of Ilya's business.

Or: How to trick your captain into locking down his long-term situationship—a guide for clueless beginners.

    Summary

There’s still a big part of him that wants all the same things he used to. The hockey, those other interests, the simplicity of the smaller circle. But there’s a twinge of something else now beside it when he considers it for too long, a bruise he can’t place the origins of. He’d been able to put somewhat of a name to it, after Rose.

He only wishes he hadn’t filled in the rest of the blanks staring down at a grainy photograph of Svetlana Vetrova in a convenience store parking lot in Boston, a bag hanging off of her manicured finger just transparent enough to make out the logo of a First Response as she’d ducked into a sleek, black sports car, driving away with Shane's best worst would-have-been and, presumably, Ilya Rozanov's baby.

Shane feels no particular way about this turn of events. He really, honestly, mostly is somewhat close to believing that, too. It's progress.

    Summary

And then her lover begins to act strange; she’s late to their meetings, she’s tired and withdrawn, her dark hair slightly greasier than she would ever normally tolerate.
They’re spread out, and nothing to be concerned about on their own. The woman doesn’t even realise the events are connected until it’s too late. Her lover still tells her that she loves her, and when the woman does ask if she is alright, she tells her that she’s fine, and not to worry about it. The woman accepts the dismissal.
And then suddenly she’s dead. And the sound of a creaking rope will haunt her for the rest of her days. Why hadn’t she trusted her?
You can ask her yourself, Louis thinks to her as she shudders with the last breaths of the dying, stroking her back in an effort to comfort her as she goes.
He feels an immense amount of pity for the dead woman. He can’t imagine not knowing something’s wrong with Lestat. He can’t imagine not being able to piece it all together.
And Lestat promised no more lies. No more secrets.
Surely he’d tell him if something was wrong.
    Wouldn’t he?
