Miko glanced at her screen, it had been enough time already, she had given it enough though and was sure that it was time. She marked the numbers and surprisingly both of them answered. “We need to talk, it’s about Ei” she said to them.
She had a good plan, she’d excused herself from class, and told Ei she’d see her after school. She then drove back to Ei’s house alone. She was greeted by the permanent sorrowed face that had become of Ei’s parents. They looked behind her but when they saw Ei wasn’t with her their expression changed to panic.

Rumi touched her fingers to her ribs. She could feel the heat radiating from her skin, even through her clothes. A distant, miserable part of her said, this is going to hurt.
She pushed her fingers down.
The rib shifted.
The thing about telling one very big lie is that it requires a foundation of hundreds of smaller lies to hold it up, lies such as "I'm fine," and "nothing's broken," and "it doesn't hurt."
Rumi finds this out the hard way.
