“Between two buns, usually,” the waiter says, and Alex feels his face doing something he didn’t give it permission to do, which is unfortunate because the guy is looking right at him.
“Stellar,” he says, because it’s either that or leave the restaurant, and he’s kind of hungry. “Sorry about my face. It just kinda does that.”

"Shane." His mom gently shook his good shoulder, rousing Shane from a very pleasant and drugged-up sleep. He blinked a few times, still unused to the bright fluorescence of the hospital lights. He briefly wondered if there was a way he could ask them to turn them down. Did hospital lights dim? They should. "Your phone is ringing. Do you want me to answer it?"
"Whosit?" he slurred, his tongue not fitting right in his mouth. Is that something he should talk to the doctor about? He was pretty sure a too-big tongue wasn't a side effect of a concussion or a broken collarbone.
"Um."Mom's eyes flitted from Shane's phone to his face and back again. "Someone named Lily?" It came out as a question, her intense stare suggesting it wasn't the one she wanted to ask.

It’s been too long since he’s had sex — okay, any kind of intimacy, really — and this back-and-forth he’s had with this complete and utter dickwad on Reddit isn’t helping. There’s literally nothing that gets him more riled up than a good argument, and as much as he hates Reddit user mostardently and their completely wrong opinion on Star Wars, he can’t deny the thrill that zips down his spine every time he gets called an insufferable prick by them.
