    Summary

Mira takes a deep breath. The bond calms a bit as she tries to work through the pain of that particular revelation, bringing her thumb down to Rumi's face to swipe a tear away from where it slides toward her hairline.

"I brought you boba." she murmurs. "Who brings boba for someone they're about to abandon?"

Rumi grimaces "You know those videos of dogs about to be put down that get a hamburger and ice cream before-"

Zoey feels a violent heat behind her eyes, and her hand tugs at Rumi's hair hard enough to get her attention. "Do NOT finish that thought." she says, silencing the conversation abruptly.
