Summary
Diluc knows how these dreamscapes work. He knows that it'll all dissolve at the end of the day; he knows that his actions in this realm, carefully crafted to tempt him, exist solely in a vacuum. He can refuse to be swayed and brush Kaeya off. He can leave him behind and look for the exit on his own, and any lingering hurt and bitterness will be nothing more than a transient blip in the universe, a paltry emotion lost to the yawning, meandering expanse of the ley lines. It won't matter. Nothing matters here.
He reaches down and takes Kaeya's hand, still soft and stubby with youth. He squeezes gently. After a long moment, Kaeya—confused, hesitant, scared—squeezes back.
"Sorry about that," Diluc says. "Let's go find Father."
Diluc gets the chance to meet a younger Kaeya and maybe—finally—start to come to terms with everything.

Summary
The 6th seat of the Harbingers has been empty for centuries.
So when Wanderer, an Akademiya scholar just trying to survive coursework and the Traveler's antics, finds himself appointed (against his will) to fill the empty position through an diplomatic agreement between Snezhnaya and Sumeru, most assume he's going to fail within the first week.
What they don't expect was for this "newbie" to take command as if he'd been doing so his whole life.
