    They turned a corner, Obi-Wan nearly misjudging the distance and bumping into Cody’s side. Instead of stepping away, he stayed there, leaning into him just slightly, his shoulder pressing against Cody’s arm.
    Cody didn’t move away either.

    "You know," Obi-Wan mused, voice quieter now, "I really never thought I’d have something like this."

    Cody glanced at him. "Like what?"

    Obi-Wan took a slow breath. "Something that belongs just to me. Something the war didn’t take first."

    Cody’s face softened. He reached for Obi-Wan’s hand, fingers curling around him with easy familiarity. "Well," he said, voice just as quiet, "I’m not letting the war take this. Not us."
