    Summary

Shenanigans ensue when one middle finger to the Academy too many gets Starfleet Cadet James T. Kirk booted off planet for a summer internship aboard the V.S.S. Sh'Raan.

He's hiding a major secret from the oh so earnest and helpful Vulcans, but the longer he's on the ship, the more Jim starts to wonder if they're keeping secrets from him, too.

    ---

Captain Spisee handed Jim a heavy sheet of rich, cream paper embossed with gold dusted Vulcan calligraphy bearing the ship’s name. It was a bit cheap by the standards of Vulcan stationary aesthetics, but shipboard life meant some sacrifices. In the most elegant handwriting he’d ever had the privilege to lay eyes on, it read:

Jaskier wanted nothing more than to drown his sorrows in ale as he contemplated just how to give Geralt his one blessing.

Needless to say, Destiny had other plans.

    Summary

“Are you one of the Butcher’s pack? I don’t smell him on you.”

The question sent a frisson of unease through him. The truth was that if he did belong to the Kaer pack, he would be marked by his alpha. An alpha’s mark would ensure his safety and add legitimacy to everything he did. A pack and a family, all in one. Even the Butcher of Blaviken would keep the members of his pack safe or die protecting them.

Once upon a time, Jaskier had had that. Once upon a time, he’d imagined the day when he would become an alpha himself and care for his own pack.

Now he knew, all of those dreams were nothing more than a fairytale.

    Summary

Jaskier gets fired from his job as a professor at Oxenfurt because of his political views, though the official excuse is that he plagiarised a fellow professor’s work.

Assets seized in reparation, and with nothing more than the belongings he can carry, he ends up accepting a job interview to teach at Kaer Morhen. The school is high up in the mountains, considerably smaller than Oxenfurt, and teaches a far more exotic population of students.

Jaskier has never even met an elf, or a dwarf, or a dragon for that matter. Not to mention anything about the school’s legendary guardians, who, as it happens, don’t seem to like him at all. He can understand. After all, Oxenfurt is far from friendly to anyone that isn’t human. If they don't seem to expect much better from him, he'll just have to show them.

    Summary

Getting stuck in Kaedwen in winter had never been on Jaskier's plan. It's cold, they don't appreciate his music and nobody likes their national beverage anyway. The only redeeming thing Kaedwen has is Kaer Morhen, so Jaskier does what any reasonable bard would do in this situation: he decides to charm his way into Kaer Morhen to hibernate with Geralt and the other witchers. If nothing it will be an experience no human has ever had, fuel for songs and poems for years to come, while finally teaching him a thing or two about witchers he's just dying to know.

Curiosity tended to kill the cat, but Jasker had always seen himself as more of a bird anyway.
