Summary
He levels the pistol at John Silver’s head, lips in the start of a snarl.
The John he was acquainted with would have feigned indignation, raised his hands and his eyebrows and used Thomas’s pacifism to defuse the threat. Wheedled his way into a calmer state of affairs. Silver doesn’t flinch, an uncustomary flatness in his countenance as he returns the eye contact.
It falls to James to speak, which he does with as much retaliatory coldness as he can muster. “Get out of my house.”Post series work, set ~18 months after the season four finale. John is drawn to Savannah, desperate for help. James is, in turn, pulled back to the chaos of piracy.

Summary
In the world we know, the unforgiving training of the Royal Naval lingers in James Flint. He treats his crew as expendable; they're not more important than the mission. Not more important than his all-consuming crusade to fulfill Thomas Hamilton's dream for a free Nassau. He has Miranda for safe harbor. All his love and devotion go to her.
In another world, when a beaten but not broken James McGraw is told that Thomas and Miranda are dead before he is even transported to the colonies, piracy is what saves him. His crew is his safe harbor. There is no one waiting for him at home in the interior. And when a man whose passion and rhetoric can ignite a war against the civilized world starts thinking about building pirate alliances that much sooner...the world changes.
Or, the sweeping Pirate versus Britain war AU that no one but James Flint asked for, full of angst, suffering, brotherhood, and of course, sea battles.
Eventually, James Flint will find peace. But not without taking back his freedom first.

Summary
"How did you get them?" Vane asks, as Thomas drops the keys into his open palm. Behind him, he can see the distant glow of firelight, small but spreading, and he thinks he already knows the answer.
Thomas smiles. "Kerosine."
His hair falls into his eyes, white blonde from the Savannah sunlight, and for a moment he sees the ghost of Eleanor Guthrie at eighteen years old, baring her teeth in a grin.
OR: There is no Woodes Rogers to save Eleanor Guthrie's life. There are no men to repair the fort. Charles Vane comes up with a new way to recruit workers to Nassau.

Summary
Thomas puts aside his book then, sticking a leather bookmark between the pages. He reaches out, pulling James close, kissing him slowly and languidly until he relaxes underneath his touch. James can sense the tension draining out of his shoulders from the feeling of Thomas’ lips on his. Thomas smiles, running his fingers down the side of James’ throat, until they come to rest over his heart.
“This is part of why I fell in love with you,” he says. “Your heart has always been far too big to be occupied by just one person alone.”
*It has been five years since the events on Skeleton Island. James and Thomas are living a quiet life in a little cottage near Savannah, finally having begun to heal and reveling in the fact that they are together again. That is, until they hear the news that four pirates were captured nearby, and said pirates come knocking at their door late at night. James is at least as surprised to see them as they are to see him.
