That one epic Seb/Grelle fic that was like everything back in the day--the one with Ciel/Alois on the side and I think this was how I was introduced to the ship way back then because I'd never thought of Ciel like THAT until I realized he and Alois were good together and (after they finally stopped treating Alois like a slutty comedy relief character...) I think this was a large part of that epiphany. Interestingly, I'm not as interested in the S/G parts anymore--tho for sure the character development of Grelle and the plot over all is still fantastic--as I am in anything with Alois but I guess that's just how times have changed... I wonder now too if this is where my belief that Alois and Grelle should have adopted each other in the canon, cuz they're really so much alike and Alois really needs a loving mom and Grelle could totally be that for him (as soon as she's comfortable cuz I think canonically she isn't good with kids), came from? Cuz I do think it's just a natural progression: Alois just wants to be loved and Grelle has a lot of love to give and since Alois is only interested in Ciel (in THAT way... I could see him being interested in Claude, sure, but I don't think of that as THAT way; he just wanted to be Claude's most important which is not actually the same thing as THAT) and Grelle is only interested in OLDER MEN (ok that's a headcanon but I think it's a fair one given who she eyeballs)... I think it's only natural that they'd fall into place beside each other as mother and child. But yea this work probably is still the origin of that thought. Anyway, yea, finally found it! Also, this is so one of the fics that got me into Reaper!Alois which I totally need to finish writing
