“None of your fucking business,” Roy immediately answered.
“Well I just… I’ll be home for Christmas. Mummy and Simon are coming to stay with me and, you know, do all the Christmas shit. Midnight mass, presents, Christmas dinner, the Boxing Day match, all that. Thought you might want to join if you’ve got nothin’ else planned,” Jamie shrugged, looking down as he traced the rim of his cup with his index finger.

Roy sighs. “Because an estate agent told me I should.”
“D’you like it?”
“I hate it,” Roy says heavily, and it’s surprisingly freeing to admit out loud. He sits back in his seat, feeling like an elephant has stepped off his chest.
“So sell it. Buy something you like. Life’s too short, right?” Jamie says, like it’s so easy.
It actually…probably is that easy. In the grand scheme of things. He just needs to ring an estate agent, put his house on the market, and buy a new one. People do it literally every day. Jamie Tartt figured it out, so it can’t be impossible. Fuck.
