Summary
He sees it all as if in slow motion: Mordred's aborted lunge forward, the flare of his crimson cloak unravelling out behind him; the slash of his hands, gloved and gauntleted, out in front of him to sweep up above his head; the explosion of energy that seems snap out from his skin, flattening his hair to his forehead dragging back his curls and cloak as if Mordred stands in the centre of a raging storm; and finally, those steady grey eyes flashing a lurid, ephemeral gold, like coins gleaming in the middle of his familiar face.
The spear clatters to the ground, wood on stone. But Arthur isn't looking at it- Arthur's looking at Mordred. Mordred, who is the best of his knights; Mordred, who he knighted and trained himself; Mordred, who has just used magic to save his life.
In the Disir's cave, Mordred saves Arthur's life another way, and Arthur is forced to decide between choosing to love or repeating Uther's mistakes.

A voice managed to break through the silence, low and soothing, and for a minute, Gwaine thought it had sounded like someone else's. But it was Merlin who was lifting him to his feet, supporting his limp weight with his body the entire way to his chambers and whispering "I got you". He had to give it to him, he was much stronger than he looked.

Instead of smuggling Mordred out of Camelot at the first opportunity, which is the most suspicious option in Merlin's opinion, the decision is instead made to pretend that the boy is someone else entirely for a few weeks and only then return him to the druids.
It works out better than expected, and what was a one-off becomes something of a regular practice.

When Grace reaches Erid, it quickly becomes clear that he will not survive long in the planets surface. So what do they do? They schedule a diplomatic visit to Earth a few decades earlier than originally planned. Back on Earth, Stratt is brought back into the world of the Project after many years of running from prosecution. Shenanigans ensue, new friends are made, and the past is reflected on, on Earth, Erid, and in transport.
Tl;dr: Grace returns to Earth in time to see Stratt again. The journey for both of them to get there, and the aftermath of that reunion.
